Shanghai Foreign Training Department is a formal school department in Shanghai.

Founded in 1964, it is one of the 1 1 overseas student training departments directly under the Ministry of Education, the preparatory education center for overseas students of the National Scholarship Fund Committee, and the college-level teaching unit of Shanghai International Studies University. For many years, the training department has been responsible for the intensive foreign language training for students sent by the Ministry of Education before going abroad, and it is also the official authoritative training institution and the examination center of the Ministry of Education that undertakes the task of foreign language training for overseas students at their own expense.
