The National English Proficiency Test (PETS) is a national English Proficiency Test system designed and managed by the Examination Center of the Ministry of Education. Through a comprehensive examination of candidates' listening, speaking, reading and writing abilities, the level of candidates is tested to meet the needs of society for English proficiency appraisal and talent market. The examination is not limited by age, education, region or occupation. The national English test in the first half of 2008 is scheduled to be held on March 22-23, 2008.

From February 22, 2007, 65438 to October 8, 2008 (New Year's Day is a holiday), applicants can apply for registration at the following approved test centers. Valid identification documents must be provided at the time of registration: ID cards or military and armed police personnel certificates, household registration books and passports.

Applicants can go through the registration formalities at the College of Continuing Education of University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, Huaguang College of East China Normal University, Shanghai Business Accounting School Training Center, Shanghai New World Continuing Education Center, Adult Education Department of Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai Business Foreign Languages School, Shanghai Science and Technology Management Cadre College, Shanghai Songjiang Youkaineng Language Training School and other test sites.
