It covers an area of 30,300 square meters, with a building area of 23,000 square meters and a total investment of about 65.438+0.2 billion yuan. It is divided into popular science exhibition area, culture and art training area, large-scale activities and academic conference area and office service area.

The main feature of this center is the integration of two libraries:

The first is the exhibition department (science and technology museum)

Mainly carry out popular science education for teenagers. The total investment of equipment in the museum is about 20 million, of which 85% of the exhibits are interactive, which is the highest among the exhibits of the National Science and Technology Museum. It is scientific, informative and interesting, and vividly embodies the classic scientific principles and technical applications. The activity is divided into five parts: Science and Technology Exhibition Hall, Observatory, Digital Ballscreen Cinema, 4D Dynamic Cinema and Children's Paradise. There are red scarf square and national defense education park outside the venue.

The Department of Exhibition Education not only organizes 40,000 Suzhou students to go to the Science and Technology Museum for "scientific exploration" activities every year, but also pays attention to the combination with school education, and declared the "Campus Science and Technology Museum Activities" pilot project of China Association for Science and Technology, and achieved certain results. In order to make full use of the resources of the Science and Technology Museum and cultivate children's spirit of learning and loving science from an early age, we organized children from middle and large classes in kindergartens in this city to study science in the Science and Technology Museum. The training activity of "Kitty Hawk Interpreter" was also held jointly with the city experimental primary school. After a period of study, 12 small interpreters officially took up their posts, and their task was mainly to participate in important activities of the center as another highlight of the center. Organize outstanding primary and secondary school students in the city to participate in various summer camp activities every summer vacation, which is deeply loved by students and parents.

The second is the training department.

To provide high-quality off-campus education and training for children in Wujiang, there are currently eight categories of training programs, including art, calligraphy, dance, puzzle, sports, science and technology, vocal music and instrumental music, and more than 200 training courses. Adhere to the combination of popularization and improvement, and set up seven children's cultural and artistic societies in Wujiang, including the first children's national band, children's orchestra, children's choir, children's Latin dance troupe, children's dance troupe, children's calligraphy and painting club and children's literature club. Two of them are funded by the municipal government and personally directed by professors from Shanghai Conservatory of Music. We also organize children of these societies to participate in various public welfare activities and competitions at various levels.
