Zhejiang International Maritime College is located in Zhoushan, a scenic "Haitian Buddhist country and fishing port city", adjacent to the international metropolis Shanghai. It is an ordinary higher vocational and technical college focusing on navigation, port logistics, ship engineering and marine tourism.
Zhejiang International Maritime College currently covers an area of 499 mu, with a building area of over 90,000 square meters and more than 6,200 full-time students. The college has complete facilities for teaching, books, scientific research and living, and has advanced experimental equipment such as ship maneuvering simulator and training places such as sea training base. The college carries out various kinds of crew training projects approved by the National Maritime Safety Administration, among which the training projects such as bridge resource management, engine room resource management and electronic chart are at the forefront of the national counterparts. The Institute is one of the networking organizations of the Hong Kong Shipowners' Association and Chinese mainland Maritime College, and has become a member of international organizations such as the International Maritime Teachers' Association and the Asia-Pacific Maritime College Federation. Up to now, more than a thousand students have served in more than 20 well-known shipping companies at home and abroad, such as Hong Kong Orient Overseas Container Shipping Co., Ltd.
Zhejiang International Maritime College adheres to the tenet of "based on Zhoushan, serving Zhejiang and facing the world", fully implements the ISO900 1:2000: 2000 quality management system of People's Republic of China (PRC) and China Maritime Safety Administration and the quality management system of crew education and training, and actively cultivates application-oriented middle and senior professional and technical personnel who meet the needs of navigation, port, shipbuilding and marine tourism, and have basic professional theories, proficient professional skills and certain innovation ability.
