Aishana is one of 39 Kazakh children in Raster herdsmen's settlement kindergarten. Locals call this kindergarten "the kindergarten under the iceberg". On the kindergarten playground, you can see the iceberg of Mousse Island, which is covered with snow all the year round at the top of the mountain not far away.
Laster Village is a Kazakh herder settlement village in Wulate Town, Jimunai County, Altay Prefecture, Xinjiang, which is located in the northwest border of China. Since 2009, herders here have lived in resettlement houses built by the government. It takes half an hour's drive from Jimunai County.
The iceberg of Mousse Island has nurtured generations of people in this arid and water-deficient land. People who have lived at the foot of Mousse Island for generations regard water as milk and mountains as mother, so water-saving education is also a major feature of this kindergarten.
The 39 children in kindergarten are divided into large classes and mixed-age classes. The two classes have their own names: the big class is called water-saving wisdom class, and the mixed-age class is called water-saving demonstration class. Director Nord Khairati said: "We should let the children know that they live at the foot of the iceberg, cherish and care for water, and educate them to save water resources, care for the iceberg and care for the earth."
Grating herdsmen's settlement kindergarten was put into use in June 20 14, and it is one of the village-level kindergartens in Jimunai County 17. Its establishment stems from the public welfare action plan "One Village, One Park: Kindergarten Plan in Mountain Village".
Since 2009, China Development Research Foundation, through in-depth cooperation with local governments, donated enterprises, institutions, individuals and non-profit organizations, has started to set up kindergartens at village level on a pilot basis to provide low-cost, high-quality free preschool education for children aged 3-6 in underdeveloped areas. This commonweal action plan is "one village, one park: mountain village kindergarten plan".
20 12, 1 1, "One village, one garden: rural kindergarten plan" was extended to Jimunai County, Altay, Xinjiang. China Development Research Foundation raised 4.693 million yuan to cooperate with Jimunai county government to carry out mountain village kindergarten project in Jimunai county. Village-level kindergartens 17 were newly built, covering 4 1 administrative villages in the county, providing free preschool education for more than 200 rural children/kloc-0.
Nationwide, the project "One Village, One Garden: Mountain Village Kindergarten Plan" covers Yunnan, Guizhou, Xinjiang, etc. 1 3 counties in each province (autonomous region), and more than 3,000 mountain village kindergartens have been established, benefiting more than 200,000 rural children.
Aishana's parents are Kazakh herders. They follow the tradition of "changing all seasons and grazing all year round" and wander around the pasture in Sawuer Mountain all the year round. She lives with her grandparents and will be sent to her parents in summer to spend the summer vacation with them in the grassland of the summer pasture.
Different from Aishana's family, some herdsmen in Hong Lin Village gave their cattle and sheep to other grazing villagers and stayed in the village to settle down. They planted pasture on the allocated land, or engaged in handicrafts or commerce, ending their nomadic life. At present, there are 540 households *** 1440 people in the village.
The kindergartens and small villages in Hong Lin Village are built in the middle of the village together, which is particularly eye-catching in the rows of clean and spacious blue-roofed villagers' resettlement houses built by the government.
Entering the kindergarten with a total area of 1.704 square meters, the indoor corridor is decorated with the theme of China traditional culture, love for hometown and love for icebergs. Teachers have designed at least five theme play areas for children, and electronic teaching equipment is fully equipped. Outdoor facilities such as a 30-meter runway, bunkers, tires and slides have been set up for children's "plantations" to fully meet children's entertainment needs.
Kindergarten curriculum is divided into five areas: health, language, society, science and art, and different theme activities are set for large classes and mixed-age classes respectively. For example, in the field of language, the goal of children in mixed-age classes is to be able to have daily conversations in the common language of the country, while the goal of children in large classes is to be able to recite children's songs completely and understand their contents.
The kindergarten has 1 principals, 5 full-time teachers and 1 Mingshan Village volunteers. All seven employees graduated from preschool education, and the qualified rate of teachers' education was 1.000%. Teachers' national language proficiency has reached the second level or above, and both front-line teachers and nursing teachers have received professional training for preschool teachers and nursing education and training.
Every morning, Aisana's grandparents take her to kindergarten. "The child is very happy to go to kindergarten, and we are more assured to put her in kindergarten. In addition to learning what we can't teach, Aishana also eats three meals a day for free in kindergarten. " Aishana's grandmother Bahetihan said.
All rural kindergartens in Jimunai County, including Grating herdsmen's settlement kindergarten, have achieved regular meals for three meals a day, which has achieved nutritional security for children aged 3-6 years ahead of most poverty-stricken areas.
"Our goal is to care for every growing seedling at the foot of the iceberg. Starting from the patriotic theme education, the protection of iceberg mother and water resources is the characteristic of running the park, so that children can know how to care for the green mountains and rivers of the motherland and hometown. " Director Nord said.
In 20 17 years, the gross enrollment rate of Jimunai county reached 100% in the three years before school and 20 12 years, and the figure was 78%. Nationwide, the gross enrollment rate of preschool education in 20 19 is 83.4%, and that of preschool education in 2020 is 85.2%.
No one can be left behind. "One village, one garden: mountain village kindergarten plan" ensures children's early development opportunities and practices the original intention of education to promote rural poverty alleviation and social mobility to block the intergenerational transmission of poverty, thus achieving social equity.
On July 20 18, "One Village, One Garden: Mountain Village Kindergarten Project" won the 20 18 World Education Innovation Project Award at the World Education Innovation Summit, which became the first China project to win the award since the award was established, and was called the "Nobel Prize in Education". The purpose of the kindergarten run by the cultural wall in Chenguang is striking: "Care for every growing seedling at the foot of the iceberg".
On the other cultural wall, there are twelve kinds of attitudes that children want to show, such as "patriotism".
