Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine was founded in 1958 with the name of "Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine". Approved by the Liaoning Provincial Party Committee, it is the only Chinese medicine institution of higher learning in Liaoning Province, which was merged by Liaoning College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (founded in 1955) and Liaoning Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine (founded in 1956).
Approved by the Ministry of Education, it was renamed Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006. Approved by Liaoning Province, the name of Liaoning Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine was added in 20 13, the school-enterprise alliance of traditional Chinese medicine health industry in Liaoning Province was established in 20 17, and the traditional Chinese medicine industry in Liaoning Province was established in 20 19.
Liaoning University of Traditonal Chinese Medicine is the first batch of universities with the right to award doctoral and master's degrees, the first batch of universities with the conditions to receive foreign students, students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, the first batch of national export bases for traditional Chinese medicine services, the first batch of national clinical research bases for traditional Chinese medicine, the first batch of universities entrusted by the "Silk Road" China government scholarship project, and the first batch of pilot units for preventive health care services in state administration of traditional chinese medicine.
