Shandong University of Political Science and Law is located in Jinan, a famous historical and cultural city. It is a provincial-level university with coordinated development of multiple disciplines, focusing on law, and the only political and legal college in Shandong Province.

Shandong University of Political Science and Law, formerly known as Shandong University of Political Science and Law, was founded in 1955. Later, after a series of suspension and reconstruction, 1987, Shandong Provincial People's Government renamed Shandong Institute of Judicial Management as Shandong Institute of Political Science and Law Management, and then began to build Shandong University of Political Science and Law in 2005.
