Nanchang Health School was founded in 1929, which is the first health vocational education in Jiangxi.

Formerly known as Jiangxi Midwifery Vocational School, it was renamed after vicissitudes. 1970 was renamed Nanchang Health School, which belongs to Nanchang Health and Family Planning Commission. The school is a public state-level key secondary vocational school, a national model school for the reform and development of secondary vocational education, an advanced unit of vocational education in the whole province, a "civilized unit in Jiangxi Province" and an advanced unit for the employment of graduates from secondary vocational schools in Jiangxi Province.

Known by the industry as the "Whampoa Military Academy" for training angels in white, it enjoys high popularity and good reputation in all walks of life. The school has one school and two districts, with more than 4620 full-time students.

The campus has convenient transportation and is a beautiful garden-style school. The school has a modern professional teaching base, complete laboratories, advanced equipment, and advanced teaching facilities such as multifunctional nursing laboratory and simulation ward, multimedia classroom, physical training room, computer operation room and language lab.

The practice base is more than 70 large hospitals in provinces and cities, as well as some regional and county hospitals. This major has a long history and remarkable achievements in professional construction. The school has set up eight majors: nursing, Chinese medicine nursing, midwifery, pharmacy, prosthodontics, rehabilitation technology, nutrition and health care, and rural medicine. Among them, nursing, midwifery and rural medicine are provincial-level fine specialties, pharmacy is municipal-level key specialty, and prosthodontics is provincial-level key construction specialty.

The school adheres to employment-oriented and service-oriented, and adopts a multi-form, multi-level and multi-channel flexible school-running mode in line with the guiding ideology of student-oriented and teaching-centered. The school is Nanchang Health Vocational Training Center, and actively carries out training for adult (self-taught) junior college, undergraduate and on-the-job health technicians. Now it is a training and examination base for practicing doctors in provinces and cities.
