1, breastfeeding guidance

1) Before breast-feeding, change a clean diaper for the newborn, and avoid changing diapers for the newborn during or after breast-feeding. If the newborn is turned over, it is easy to cause galactorrhea.

2) Prepare hot water and towels for the lying-in women to wash their hands. Clean the lying-in woman's breasts with a warm towel.

3) If the breasts are full, squeeze out a little milk first, and then start feeding when the areola is soft (if there is too much breast milk).

2. Guidance of feeding posture

(1) Postpartum breastfeeding posture. Let the lying-in woman sit in an armchair with her back close to the back of the chair and her legs naturally droop to the ground. The feeding side foot can be stepped on the stool. Place a special nursing pillow or home soft pillow under the armpit of the newborn on the nursing side. This posture can make it convenient and comfortable for pregnant women to breastfeed.

(2) Newborns' embrace and nipple connection. Instruct the parturient to hold the newborn with forearms, palms and fingers, so as to keep the newborn's head and body in a straight line. The newborn's body turns, close to the parturient, facing the breast, and the tip of the nose is aimed at the nipple. At the same time, instruct the parturient to hold the breast in a "C" shape with the other hand, or hold the breast in a "scissors" shape with the index finger and middle finger (used when spraying milk urgently).

Stimulate the newborn's lips with nipples when breastfeeding, and quickly send all nipples and most areola into the newborn's mouth when the newborn opens its mouth. The possibility of nipple chapping can be greatly reduced by the above nipple connection method.

(3) Exit the nipple after breastfeeding. When sucking milk, press the newborn's jaw with one hand, withdraw from the nipple, squeeze out a drop of milk and apply it around the nipple, and dry it. This method can make the milk form a protective film on the nipple to prevent the nipple from chapping. If the nipple is chapped, this method can promote the healing of chapped nipple.

3. Guidance after feeding

1 Hiccup after breastfeeding. After breastfeeding, lift the newborn vertically, pat the back gently with the hollow palm, and let the newborn lie down and sleep after burping. If you can't burp, you can hold it for a long time and let it lie on the right side when you put it on the bed to avoid choking.
