Risks Existing in Inland Waterway Shipping
After all, the sea is different from the inland river, and the meteorological conditions at sea are relatively harsh, stormy and heavily influenced by tides. Inland river ships have poor stability, low freeboard and low wind and wave resistance. When sailing at sea, the deck is easy to surf, the cargo hold is easy to get water, and accidents such as tilting, overturning and wind disaster are easy to occur.
The skills of inland river crew are not suitable for sea navigation. The training and certification requirements of inland river crew are different from those of seagoing crew. Inland river crew members do not have the knowledge and skills of maritime navigation, have no experience in maritime navigation, are not familiar with maritime navigation conditions and navigation rules, and are prone to water traffic accidents.
