Chengdu Textile College is a full-time ordinary institution of higher learning organized by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, directly under the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education, a textile institution of higher learning independently set up in southwest China, a national backbone vocational college, a demonstration vocational college in Sichuan Province, a pilot unit of the modern apprenticeship system of the Ministry of Education, and a construction institution of the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" integrated development project.

The school is a provincial-level unified examination institution for vocational education teachers and higher vocational classes in ordinary colleges and universities in Sichuan Province, and takes the lead in establishing the Southwest Textile and Apparel Vocational Education Alliance.
