Jiangyin has become a city with soaring economy and cohesive communities. Jiangyin is an agricultural and dock center, and now it is prosperous due to various manufacturing economies and information service economies. Economic development has stimulated Jiangyin's vitality, which is manifested in the improvement of people's quality of life and the achievement of cultural achievements.
Jiangyin can make full use of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to develop the Bund and base itself on the world map. The Yangtze River is one of the largest rivers in the world. Together with the Seine, Thames, Danube, Nile and Mississippi, it attracts millions of tourists every year. The development of the Bund has the potential to become an important cultural, entertainment and community center. For example, thanks to the Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao has become a tourist attraction all over the world. New york has Central Park, San Francisco has Golden Gate Park, and Paris has Duvilli Garden (next to Versailles). Our goal is to design a comparable and culturally representative "Xiake" trail along Jiangyin Riverside. The development of "Bund" will become "the window of Jiangyin", showing the prosperous life of this city. This cultural and life center will promote the prosperity of local economy and improve the living standards of Jiangyin people through the development of tourism.
Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province is located in the east of China, on the south bank of the Yangtze River. Jiangyin, the "dark side of the river", comes from its relationship with the Yangtze River. This relationship has become a major factor in Jiangyin's urban development, so the two are inseparable. With the redefinition of the city, we suggest improving the role of rivers in urban life. Jiangyin Port, as an "A" port, has the ability to load a large number of goods and provide services. The port also has the potential to welcome a large number of tourists.
Signs on the river, such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and the Sydney Opera House, not only provide cultural centers, but also become symbols and features of the city. Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge, sightseeing tower and other scenic spots make Jiangyin a world-class city. We suggest connecting Goose Nose Park and Chiffon Port Road to enrich it. Our goal is to create a visual impact that not only attracts tourists from all over the world, but also makes Jiangyin people proud. From the foot of Ebi Park to the port of leek, we imagined a rich park-like structure. In addition to the existing Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge and Sightseeing Tower, four elements will describe Jiangyin's rich history, present development and broad future: historical and cultural nodes, information and entertainment nodes, People's Square and Binjiang Park.
Historical and cultural center
The first component of the "Xiake" trail is the historical and cultural center, which will extend people's cultural activities in Goose Mouth Park. The design includes a world-class maritime museum with exhibitions ranging from ancient sailboats to modern high-tech ships, as well as travel history and artworks. Under the huge glass dome, the museum will display famous ships in history. The dome reminds people of the time at sea, and also echoes with the Goose Mouth Mountain (Figure 6). The dome museum is built on the hill, and people can climb down the stairs and come to the bank of the Yangtze River to evoke the beautiful memories of the Bund as a pier. The oval dome is like the bow of a new ship about to launch, looking forward to its maiden voyage.
The aquarium and the museum are connected by an overpass, where visitors can watch the wonderful ocean world and learn about the ecology of the Yangtze River. We hope that the aquarium can form a marine biology research partnership with nearby universities to help improve the overall health of the Yangtze River. Through the connection between museums and aquariums, we hope that the society can realize the influence of human beings on nature and show the achievements of human beings in using nature. The meditation gardens around museums and aquariums give people a space to meditate. Tourists and local residents relax and think about life here. In meditation garden, people get close, winding paths lead to secluded places, and roadside flowers are in full bloom. On the grass leaning towards the river in the middle, people lie or lean, watching music, drama and martial arts performances on the Center Stage. There are also puppet shows and other children's cultural performances.
The center of meditation garden is the rebuilt original wharf, which will coordinate with maritime museum to dock the replicas of ancient ships or historic retired warships.
The second part of Xiake Trail in Science and Technology Entertainment City is located in the west of the Bund. This will be an information and entertainment center, displaying modern media, communication and entertainment. The spacious welcome square welcomes tourists. The portal arch marks the entrance to the science and technology entertainment city. The information and entertainment center is separated by a boulevard with lounge chairs and water features, at the end of the Yangtze River.
In the street, people gather to watch street performances, acrobatics and magic shows. Visitors can listen to pop music in a festive atmosphere and enjoy life with relatives and friends. People can also take a walk along Entertainment Street and browse the surrounding scenery, or overlook the Yangtze River Bridge from the observation deck at the end of the street and watch other scenic spots on the Bund. In the afternoon, when other tourists take a leisurely walk, tourists can also sit on the lounge chair and watch passers-by.
The Colosseum-style cinema with several projection halls in the north of the trail is located by the river and looks like a ship moored on the shore. Connected to the screening hall is a spacious lobby and lounge, and the food gallery provides all kinds of food from all over the world.
Grow all kinds of food. In the movie corridor between the cinemas, the latest games and electronic products on the market will be displayed to attract people. Opposite the theater is a multi-storey shopping plaza with a glass dome, including music, books, entertainment and other products. The upper floor of the square gives some space for people who love nightlife. Visitors can watch live music performances, dance all night and sing their favorite songs in karaoke bars.
In the east of the infotainment city, there is also a park connected to the People's Square. The Woods in the park are open for people to play and have picnics.
Binjiang Park
Binjiang Park will be an element connecting Goose Nose Park and Leek Harbor in Xiake Trail, and it will also be an element connecting residential areas and the Yangtze River with trees and water. The park provides entrances to various scenic spots and paths for people to walk along the river. Before parking in the parking lot of the three nodes, visitors can enjoy the scenery along the tourist lane next to the park by car.
Electric vehicles will provide transportation services from ports or city bus lines to scenic spots along the river, including sightseeing towers to leek port. Parks will also help people recall the fleeting and forgotten nature in modern urban life. Times have changed, and parks reflect all aspects of life. We hope that the park can add the characteristics of "harmony and unity of man and land" to Jiangyin City. People's Square
The core of the "Xiake" trail is the People's Square. This square takes Nianyugang Road as the axis, connecting the "Bund" and Jiangyin city center. This axis will run through People's Square and finally reach the new trestle-"Hongqiao".
Decorative colored lampposts are designed on both sides of Hongqiao, just like rainbows on the Yangtze River after rain. These colorful lampposts will symbolically illuminate Jiangyin, the "dark side of the river", which is also a sign that the Yangtze River and Jiangyin complement each other. Multicolored lampposts play the role of signal lights or lighthouses and become an important symbol of Jiangyin along the river. Music fountains located on both sides of Hongqiao take the Yangtze River as the water source, which can change with the music rhythm, and people can watch them from the square. The fountain shows the happiness and beauty of running water.
The focus of People's Square is two tensioned membrane structures located in the water pool-"Fanying Terrace", which is built on the green land raised in the middle. The form of the membrane is similar to the structure of the Yangtze River Bridge, and it is also reminiscent of ancient sailboats sailing on the river. The functions of these two buildings are large restaurants where people can hold family dinners, weddings or celebrate other important activities. We symbolically erected the "Sailing Shadow Platform" to build these buildings, in order to enhance the importance of the Yangtze River to Jiangyin's past and future development, and at the same time to show the importance of "food is the sky for the people" in the life of China people. When dining, visitors can enjoy the river view, colorful lampposts and musical fountains. After eating, the whole family, old and young, take a walk in the square to relax, or have some dessert in the coffee shop, or buy some gifts, or attend some parties.
On the west side of the People's Square node, opposite the garden next to the square, is a water restaurant. Visitors can also board a cruise ship, visit the river or hold a party at the pier on the east side of the community center. These docks will also become a scenic spot for hundreds of cruise ship tourists to visit ashore every day on the Yangtze River.
These tourists are either active in various scenic spots on Xiake Trail, or go to the tourist service center for information about visiting Jiangyin, and go to famous scenic spots such as shopping and dining in Jiangyin. People's Square will truly become a "mirror" of Jiangyin, not only attracting tourists to visit Jiangyin, but also enjoying all the opportunities provided by Jiangyin.
