What is activated carbon? What knowledge is activated carbon?
Activated carbon is black powder or block, granular, honeycomb-shaped amorphous carbon, but also regularly arranged crystalline carbon. In addition to carbon, activated carbon also contains two kinds of blends: one is chemical binding elements, mainly oxygen and hydrogen, which remain in activated carbon due to incomplete carbonization, or foreign non-carbon elements chemically combine with the surface of activated carbon during activation; The other admixture is ash, which is the inorganic part of activated carbon, and it is easy to cause secondary pollution of activated carbon. Activated carbon is widely used in production and life because of its strong adsorption.

Activated carbon adsorption method is the most extensive, mature, safest, most reliable method to remove indoor pollution and the most kinds of adsorbed substances. As an excellent physical and chemical adsorbent, activated carbon has attracted more and more attention.

Efficient and environmentally friendly activated carbon bag can adsorb all indoor harmful gas molecules, such as formaldehyde, ammonia, benzene, xylene, radon and so on. In the air, quickly eliminate the decoration odor and evenly adjust the space humidity. It has a good effect on living rooms, furniture wardrobes, bookcases, shoe cabinets, shoes, refrigerators, bathrooms, floors, fish tanks, cars, air conditioners, computers, offices, hotels and entertainment places. It is formaldehyde.

Air purification: put activated carbon indoors to effectively absorb harmful substances such as formaldehyde and xylene contained in the air (especially in newly renovated houses).

Deodorization of furniture: Activated carbon can be applied to cabinets, drawers and refrigerators on newly bought furniture, and can also be put in shoes to remove odor.

Automobile odor removal: new cars generally contain a lot of harmful substances \ unpleasant pungent smell, which can be effectively removed with activated carbon.

Wood floor moisture-proof, odor absorption, automobile gasoline evaporation pollution control, preparation of various impregnating solutions, etc. For example, activated carbon can be used as a filler for producing motorcycle carbon cans and automobile carbon cans.

1. Transportation, loading and unloading: During transportation, activated carbon shall not be dragged by iron hooks, and shall be prevented from mixing with hard objects. Vibration, rubbing, trampling, smashing and throwing are strictly prohibited. It should be unloaded lightly to reduce the fragmentation of carbon particles and affect the use.

2. Storage: It should be stored in a cool, dry and fire-proof building as far as possible to prevent the internal and external packaging bags from cracking and the absorption of moisture and other substances in the air from affecting the use effect. Do not mix with toxic and harmful gases or volatile substances, and stay away from pollution sources. Do not mix with oxidant; Open flames, sparks and smoking are prohibited in the storage area.

3. Non-immersion: Activated carbon is a porous adsorption substance, so it must be absolutely prevented from immersion during transportation, storage and use. After soaking in water, the active pores are filled with water, which reduces the direct contact between the specific surface of activated carbon and gas and seriously affects the use effect.

4. Prevention of tar substances: During use, tar viscous substances should be prohibited from entering the bed of activated carbon, so as not to block the pores of activated carbon or cover the unfolded surface of activated carbon, so that gas cannot contact the unfolded surface of activated carbon and lose its application effect. If the gas contains such substances, it should be removed before the gas enters the activated carbon bed (preferably with decoking equipment) to achieve good application effect.

5. Fire protection: Activated carbon is listed in the list of dangerous chemicals, which belongs to spontaneous combustion, with the number of 4252 1, and is flammable. There will be no flame burning after the fire, just smoldering. If the activated carbon is not ventilated enough when burning, it will produce toxic carbon monoxide. When storing or transporting activated carbon, it should be prevented from direct contact with fire sources to prevent fire. When the activated carbon is regenerated, oxygen is avoided, and the regeneration is completed. After regeneration, it must be cooled to below 800℃ by steam, otherwise the temperature will be high and the activated carbon will spontaneously ignite when it meets oxygen. Fire extinguishing agent: water, foam, carbon dioxide, sand and other fire extinguishing media available around the fire.

6. Usage: When filling, the particles and dust produced by handling should be screened out first. Then spread it evenly layer by layer, and don't pour it directly from the inlet, so as to avoid uneven filling of large and small particles, which will eventually lead to gas deviation and affect the use effect. After filling, air is blown out before starting to blow out the dust attached to the surface of activated carbon, so as to prevent the dust from being brought into the later stage after starting and affecting normal production.

The key factors affecting the service life of activated carbon are the total amount of harmful substances in the use environment and the desorption frequency. Because the quality of harmful gas adsorbed by activated carbon can approach or even reach its own quality, the quality of harmful gas in the air of ordinary family space is far less than the consumption of activated carbon. Therefore, as long as the activated carbon is often exposed to the sun, the life of the activated carbon can be increased and the service life can be longer.

7. Safety requirements: Wet activated carbon needs to remove oxygen from the air, and consuming oxygen in a safe and closed container will cause a toxic environment. If the staff enter the container filled with activated carbon for proper sampling or work in a space with low oxygen content, they should abide by the relevant national standards and operating specifications.

Leakage: isolate the leaked contaminated area and restrict access. Cut off the fire. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing.

Inhalation: leave the scene quickly and go to a place with fresh air. Keep the respiratory tract unobstructed. If you have difficulty breathing, give oxygen. If breathing stops, give artificial respiration immediately. See a doctor.

Ingestion: rinse your mouth with water. See a doctor.

Skin contact: Take off contaminated clothes immediately and rinse with plenty of running water for at least 15 minutes. See a doctor.

Eye contact: lift the eyelid immediately, rinse it thoroughly with plenty of running water or normal saline for at least 15 minutes, and seek medical attention.
