Baoji Botanical Garden is affiliated to Baoji City Construction Administration of Shaanxi Province. Located on the south bank of Weihe River, 8 kilometers away from the city center. Located in east longitude 107 08? , latitude 34 21? . It is 598 meters above sea level. It belongs to the continental climate of warm zone, but it is located at the northern foot of Qinling Mountains, the north-south climate boundary of China, the western edge of Guanzhong Plain, south of the northwest loess plateau, and blocked by the northwest cold wind and the southeast monsoon, forming an east-west perennial monsoon, which is cold in winter, hot and rainy in summer, and the rainy season is mostly concentrated in July-September. Annual average temperature 12℃, monthly average minimum temperature-10.2℃, extreme minimum temperature-16.7℃ 9, July average maximum temperature 22.5℃, extreme maximum temperature 39.6℃, and annual precipitation 70/kloc-0. The maximum frozen soil depth is 20 cm. The frost-free period is 2 10 days. The relative humidity is 67 ~ 70%.

Baoji Botanical Garden was rebuilt on the basis of Baoji nursery on 1985. 1June, 987, the master plan of botanical garden was formulated. 65438-0989 Baoji Municipal People's Government Office approved the "Opinions of the Municipal Urban Construction Bureau on Mobilizing People in the City to Dig Lakes and Gather to Accelerate the Construction of the Municipal Botanical Garden", which made the construction of the Botanical Garden upsurge.

The principle of garden construction is: mainly introduce ornamental plants and Qinling plant germplasm resources, and build a botanical garden combining scientific research, popular science and tourism, so as to make it an activity place for scientific research and popular science education of ornamental plants in Baoji City and a conservation base for Qinling plant germplasm resources.

The existing area of the park is 77.2 hectares, and Tanlu, the main traffic line of the outer ring of the city, runs through it, dividing the park into three parts: east, west and south. The east half has an exhibition area of 50.28 hectares and a management area of 2.3 hectares. After the completion of the lake digging and piling project, the exhibition area will gradually build 1 1 characteristic gardens (areas), such as exhibition greenhouse area, bonsai area, peony garden, rose garden, plum garden, grass garden, herbaceous garden, aquatic plant area, environmental protection plant area, plant classification area and endangered species area. The western part is 23.3 hectares of experimental nursery area and 1.32 hectares of living welfare area.

10 For many years, the introduction, experiment, cultivation and breeding of trees and shrubs, perennial flowers, ornamental plants and medicinal plants have been carried out in combination with production, scientific research and garden construction. More than 700,000 seedlings of various ornamental plants have been cultivated, including 5 18 species belonging to 234 genera of chrysanthemum 108 family, nearly 2,000 varieties and more than 350 varieties of roses. The rare flowers introduced are tulip and crane orchid, and the famous peony and peony are endemic to China and are the national key protected plants. Living fossil plants such as water town, ginkgo biloba, cool-season lawn plant Kentucky bluegrass, etc. A vineyard covering an area of 65,438+0 hectares has also been established, and an orchard of 2.5 hectares is being built.

In recent years, more than one scientific research report 10 has been published. The Catalogue of Introduced and Cultivated Plants in Baoji Botanical Garden (1979 ~ 1989) was compiled and published. Since 1986, it has undertaken the observation records of Baoji area in the annual report of national animal and plant phenology observation. In order to save foreign exchange and reduce the import of papermaking raw materials, we undertook a scientific research project in Baoji City, that is, the adaptive planting experiment of kenaf popularization and application, which achieved satisfactory results and has been popularized this year.

There are employees 108 in the park, including 2 technicians1person (2 with senior titles). The main production and scientific research facilities include a flood discharge pumping station and three greenhouses, as well as a specimen room, a library and a science and technology archives. Since 198 1 year, the Weihe River has been used in flood season, and the drainage silted up nearly 54 hectares, with an average siltation thickness of more than 0.5 meters, which improved the soil structure and created conditions for the introduction and planting of botanical gardens. The herbarium has collected and preserved all kinds of seed specimens. 1670. Library collection 1466 volumes, more than 30 periodicals and 256 materials. The Science and Technology Archives has bound and sorted out 49 science and technology files. It has established long-term exchanges of scientific and technological resources, information and seeds with 53 gardening, teaching and scientific research units across the country. The laboratory is being set up and will start working soon. While building the park, we also actively carry out popular science work. Since 1986, it has received more than 5,000 visits and internships from 10 universities, technical secondary schools, teachers, students and the masses in the province, and participated in the five flower bonsai exhibitions held in our city and the annual "May 1" and "Eleventh" festivals, which have been well received by the society.
