Yoram barzel graduated from Hebrew University and University of Chicago. Since 1967, he has been teaching at the University of Washington, where he is a professor of economics. Research scope includes: applied price theory, property rights economics, and recently turned to political economics. His latest research is The Birth of a Country, and his model was applied to medieval England and France. Published a large number of articles in major economic magazines, 1995, and the papers were included in the series of "20th Century Economists" by Edward Elgar Publishing House. His book Economic Analysis of Property Rights (Cambridge Press) has been published in the second edition. Professor barzel is the chairman of the Western Economic Association.
