Characters experience, Ye Kaiyuan
Ye Kaiyuan, born in Quzhou City, Zhejiang Province, date of birth: May 1926. His father worked hard and became an official. He used to be the president of Quzhou Agricultural Association and a county senator. After middle age, my family collapsed because my boss left. 65438-0938, Ye Kaiyuan was admitted to Quzhou Middle School. Because of his excellent academic performance, he later became a public student in high school. When the Japanese invaded China, Quzhou became a battlefield, and he took refuge in the temple with his family. At that time, there was no food and clothing, let alone reading. From 65438 to 0944, he went to Yu Ying Middle School in dengshikou to study alone, which was very popular with Yang Zhonglan, a math teacher of the school, and gave him special counseling, which laid a good foundation for his future growth.

1945 When he graduated from high school, it coincided with War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression's victory. Ye Kaiyuan entered the Department of Civil Engineering in Peking University and then transferred to the Department of Mathematics in yenching university. 1946 was admitted to the national Tangshan institute of technology (namely Tangshan jiaotong university), and 1947 was admitted to the sophomore department of electrical engineering in Tsinghua University. /kloc-returned to Zhejiang in 0/948, studied in the electrical engineering department of Zhejiang University for half a year, and then returned to Tsinghua University to study in the electrical engineering department until he graduated in 0/951. After graduation, I became a graduate student in Qian Weichang. 1952, adjusted in the department, transferred to the Department of Mathematical Mechanics in Peking University for postgraduate study, and the tutor was Qian Weichang. From 1945 to 1953, Ye Kaiyuan was lucky enough to study in two famous universities, Peking University and Tsinghua. He received good training and training, contacted with different academic schools and dabbled in various related disciplines, which played a decisive role in his future growth and development. After graduation, he stayed in the Department of Mathematical Mechanics in Peking University as a lecturer. In the process of preparing the mechanics department of Peking University, he did a lot of work and undertook a lot of teaching tasks. Under the guidance of Qian Weichang, Ye Kaiyuan published his research results in Physics and China Science from 65438 to 0953. Later, his book "Large Deflection of Elastic Circular Thin Plate" co-authored with Qian Weichang and others was translated into Russian and published. 1956 and Qian Weichang won the second prize of national natural science. 1958 married Ms. Ge Yi.

1959, he responded to the call to support the northwest, bid farewell to his new wife and teacher, and came to Lanzhou University to teach. With the cooperation of colleagues from all over the country, we started the work of establishing the Department of Mechanics in Lanzhou University. Great achievements have been made in the theoretical study of large deflection of beams, plates and shells.

Due to the development of modern industries such as aerospace, aviation and instrument parts, the problem of large deflection and stability of plate and shell members has attracted the attention of mechanics. Solving the large deflection equation obtained by von Kármán in 19 10 has become a frontier problem in mechanics, especially solid mechanics, in 1950s and 1960s. The solution of this problem involves the theory of nonlinear mathematics and its application in mechanics, which has not been well developed at that time. The perturbation method for solving large deflection equations proposed by Qian Weichang in 1947 provides a powerful tool for solving nonlinear mechanical problems. Under the guidance of Qian Weichang, Ye Kaiyuan began to specialize in this subject that few people set foot in at that time. 1953 The first paper "Large Deflection of Circular Thin Plate under Edge Load" was published in Journal of Physics China Science. Since then, he has done a series of work in this field. His graduation thesis "Large Deflection of Rectangular Plates" was presented at the 9th International Conference on Applied Mechanics. Co-authored with Qian Weichang and others, The Problem of Large Deflection of Elastic Circular Thin Plate was translated into Russian and published in the Soviet Union. 1956 and Qian Weichang and others won the second prize of the national natural science for this topic. After 1959, Ye Kaiyuan developed on the basis of the above work, and established methods for solving large deflection equations, such as modified iterative method to speed up convergence and analytical electric algorithm to reduce derivative work. After the Cultural Revolution, Ye Kaiyuan and his students devoted themselves to the analytical expression and convergence proof of the exact solution of the large deflection problem, obtained the analytical expression and convergence proof of the large deflection problem of a circular plate with a concentrated load at the center, and systematically summarized the convergence of some previous methods, making an important contribution to the final solution of the large deflection problem of plates and shells. With regard to the stability of shells, after years of efforts, he has obtained brand-new achievements on buckling and catastrophe of shells in recent years, which has made valuable contributions to the application of large deflection theory of plates and shells in elastic component and instrument industry. 1983, as the secretary-general of the conference, published the article "Research Progress of Flexible Components in China" at the International Conference on Nonlinear Mechanics hosted by Qian Weichang, which comprehensively summarized the work of China scholars in this field and was well received by the participants. A considerable part of the work involved in this paper was completed by Ye Kaiyuan and his students. In the past 40 years, Ye Kaiyuan and his collaborators have completed two monographs and published 36 research papers on plates and shells, covering all aspects of plate and shell theory and making contributions to the development and application of large deflection theory of plates and shells in China. In addition to the above two aspects of research work, he also did a lot of work on the dynamics of train crossing the bridge.

Establishing the only department of scientific mechanics in northwest China

From 65438 to 0959, Ye Kaiyuan was transferred from Peking University to Lanzhou University with Jiang Longji, preparing to establish a major in mechanics in the northwest. At that time, Lanzhou University had neither basic mechanical experimental equipment nor books and materials on mechanics, and the faculty was even weaker. Although some teachers are temporarily transferred from the department of mathematics, and some college students who have just graduated from mechanics are transferred from all over the country, the number is extremely limited. Ye Kaiyuan, together with these young people, worked hard from teaching basic courses to specialized courses, to guiding graduation thesis and making materials and equipment. In addition, in the difficult period of three years, the suffering experienced by the people of Gansu Province is beyond words. Ye Kaiyuan firmly believes in the leadership of the * * * production party, and always shares joys and sorrows with all the teachers and students of Lanzhou University, insisting on teaching and scientific research. From 1962 to 1967, * * * trained five graduates. Most of these students study plates and shells after graduation, and many of them become the third generation of China's plate and shell theory. 1964, a graduate wrote a book on couplets, "Learning the Classics of Plate and Shell, Building the Future of Hong Zhuan Avenue", from which we can see the weight of plate and shell theory among students majoring in mechanics at Lanzhou University. By the early days of the Cultural Revolution, the mechanical specialty of Lanzhou University had quite a lot of equipment and books, and the teaching staff was relatively mature, which laid a solid foundation for the new development. Achievements in the study of drama history

Ye Kaiyuan loved drama since he was a child. During his study in Beijing, he came into contact with various local dramas and became interested in them. His ancestral home is in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province, where there is a little-known drama-Wu Opera, and there is little research on its origin. In order not to make this ancient drama lost, but also to repay the kindness of his hometown, Ye Kaiyuan studied the history of Wu Opera in his spare time. After 10 years of cold and heat, several drafts were changed, and hundreds of thousands of words were written before the "Cultural Revolution". 198 1 year, Tokyo Longxi Bookstore published A Textual Research on Wu Opera, which established Ye Kaiyuan's position in the study of China's opera history. 1984 co-founded the academic journal On Drama with the late master of drama history, Mr. Zhao, and served as the deputy editor. After his death, Mr. Zhao was promoted to editor-in-chief for his achievements in the study of the history of traditional Chinese opera. From 65438 to 0986, he was elected as the executive director of China Opera Association and the director of Gansu Opera Association. In order to revitalize the art of China opera, Ye Kaiyuan sponsored two Peking Opera concerts and made many academic reports on the history of China opera at home and abroad. Among natural scientists, it is extremely rare to be so persistent in the art of traditional Chinese opera and make considerable achievements.
