Zheng Yanhong in Chivalry Thought in The Captain's Daughter
Among Russian writers, Pushkin is one of the most western chivalrous writers. The Captain's Daughter is a romantic novel that best embodies Pushkin's chivalry. Grigne, the hero of the novel, is the spokesman of Pushkin's chivalry to some extent. He attaches importance to honor, insists on faith, is loyal, brave, honest and generous, much like Don Quixote written by Cervantes. This image fully embodies Pushkin's chivalry.

For more than one hundred years, people have done a lot of research on Pushkin. However, the knight thought in Pushkin's works has not been discussed in detail so far. "Because of the purity of the worship of the Virgin Mary, many Russian thinkers are unwilling to admit that they are influenced by chivalry" (Liang Kun, 2007:30), which may be the reason why Pushkin's chivalry is rarely discussed. In fact, Pushkin mostly involves knights.
