By the end of last year, there were 4.8 million cars in Beijing, and road congestion became more and more serious. At present, there are three main ways to arrange road guardrails in Dongcheng District. One is to arrange cars driving in two directions in the middle of the road; One is to separate sidewalks and roads on both sides of the road; The other is to use green isolation belts, which are placed in the middle of the road and on both sides of the road. This winter vacation, we went to Hong Kong and saw that the speed there was very fast, and the placement of the isolation belt was very different from that in Dongcheng District. There are 580,000 cars in Hong Kong, most of which have narrow roads, but the speed is very fast, and there are basically no bicycle lanes. The isolation guardrail is mainly placed between the sidewalk and the driveway. Pedestrians and cars can't be mixed except at intersections. Traffic lights are installed at most intersections, and there are few cars parked on the roadside.
When I got home, I checked the information. The area of Beijing is/kloc-0.5 times that of Hong Kong, but the total number of cars in Beijing is eight times that of Hong Kong, so the number of cars in Hong Kong is twice that of Beijing in the same region, but the traffic congestion in Beijing is far more serious than that in Hong Kong. If you compare the expressways in Hong Kong and Dongcheng District, it will be much clearer. Cars and pedestrians in Hong Kong go their own way, and the traffic speed is much faster. Cars in Beijing are mixed with bicycles and pedestrians. Cars often drive into bicycle lanes or even sidewalks, while bicycles often drive into automobile lanes. Pedestrians cross the road at will, resulting in slow traffic. In Hong Kong, the guardrail between the driveway and the sidewalk plays a very important role. In Beijing, on the fenced section between bicycle lane and automobile lane, the speed of cars is relatively fast, and there are few cars parked on the roadside; However, there is no fence or fence between the bicycle lane and the sidewalk, which basically does not play the role of isolation, and cars are parked at will.
Secondly, my suggestion is:
1, reduce or cancel the fence in the middle of the road to facilitate the passage of cars;
2. Put as many fences as possible between bicycle lanes and sidewalks to isolate cars, bicycles and pedestrians. In order to facilitate pedestrians and bicycles to cross the road, it is best not to exceed 200 meters between two intersections, and set up red street lamps;
3. Set a reasonable location at the intersection for taxi parking, passengers and other vehicles to park temporarily. This position is best placed behind the traffic lights. This place is monitored by cameras and parked for a long time. Intersections and crosswalks are set at the entrance of the company and the hotel.
Three. Main costs and benefits of this proposal:
(1) cost: protective fence, at present, the domestic steel price is low, which should be acceptable; Need to add and set traffic lights.
(2) Benefits: People, cars and bicycles go their own way, which improves the traffic speed and road utilization rate and reduces mixed traffic. People, cars and bicycles are isolated, and the safety factor is improved.
(3) Reducing the guardrail in the middle of the road can improve the road utilization rate without increasing the traffic risk. And reduce the random parking of vehicles on the roadside.
