How to write a good paper;
First of all, put yourself in the position of the reader. People often feel good about what they write, but if it is read by someone who is unfamiliar with the content of the paper, whether the reader can really understand the main points of the research, whether the logic of the paper is smooth, and whether there are many strange words in the article … all these are to be considered from the perspective of a third party.
Therefore, when writing a paper, you should put yourself in the reader's position to organize and modify the content of the article. After the paper is completed, invite classmates, teachers or friends to help read it through and see what other readers don't understand.
Second, writing a paper should have the thinking of telling stories. In fact, doing scientific research is a story-telling process, and so is writing a paper. The writing of the thesis needs a complete story logic. For example, starting from why the paper should do this problem in the field, tell why the existing algorithm can't solve this problem well, and then what new discoveries or understandings we have. Based on this, what kind of method is put forward, where is the innovation of this method and what is the final result.
Papers must have smooth logic lines, and don't write boring technical reports.
Third, accumulate skills in the process of reading papers. When you read other authors' papers, if you find some wonderful parts in the papers, such as beautiful and professional words, fluent logical expressions, beautiful charts and so on. You can record them or save screenshots to build a "corpus" for you to study and refer to repeatedly when writing your thesis.
Fourth, the thesis writing should be concise, rigorous and clear. The researchers said that when reviewing manuscripts, they often saw some papers overexert their contributions. Therefore, all three researchers emphasize that the language of thesis writing should be concise and focused. Because the reviewer's review time is very limited, it is impossible to waste too much time on a work with unclear content. At the same time, the language should be rigorous.
For example, when adjectives are used to describe the degree of effect, whether it is excellent, good, healthy and rational. Be sure of every word and choose carefully. This is because most people are skeptical when reading papers, and if the details are not rigorous, it may cause distrust of research work.
Finally, thesis writing is not accomplished overnight, and it needs a lot of efforts. All three researchers said that there were no shortcuts to research and writing papers. Instead of opportunism, it is better to be down-to-earth at the beginning of the study, strictly control every link, turn the experiment into a document as soon as possible, and form a rigorous logical chain. Yang Jiaolong said that for beginners, you can first build a framework and then enrich the content, from rough to fine.
For example, according to the overall logic, first determine the title of each chapter, then determine each sub-chapter and its title, then write the first sentence (especially the introduction) of each paragraph in the chapter, and finally write all the paragraphs.
