English major examination

1, professional level 4

The CET-4 is called the National CET-4 for English Majors. Since 199 1, the Ministry of Education of Chinese mainland has carried out an inspection of English majors in national comprehensive universities, aiming at checking the implementation of the syllabus for English majors at the basic stage in each school, promoting inter-school exchanges and cooperation, and providing relevant information feedback for education management departments, teachers and students. The examination content includes English listening, reading, writing and translation. The total score is 100, which is assessed by combining written examination and oral examination.

2. TEM-8 English major

CET-8 is a foreign language proficiency test sponsored by the Teaching Steering Committee for Foreign Language Majors in colleges and universities (not sponsored by the Ministry of Education), which measures the English level of senior English majors. At present, it is a grade examination that reflects the highest English level in China. Held once a year in March, the exam is divided into listening, reading, error correction, translation and writing. Time is strict. With the standardization of examinations and the increase of references, the authority and social influence of TEM8 are constantly improving.
