Brief introduction of Central South University of Forestry and Technology
Central South University of Forestry and Technology was founded in 1958, located in Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is a key construction university of Hunan Provincial People's Government and State Forestry and Grassland Bureau. 20 12 was selected as the basic capacity building project in the central and western regions of China.
One of the school's predecessors was Hunan Forestry College established by 1958. 1963, Hunan Forestry College was moved from Changsha to Guangzhou, and under the kind care of Tao Zhu, a proletarian revolutionary of the older generation, it merged with the Forestry Department of South China Agricultural University (now South China Agricultural University) to form Central South Forestry College. Comrade Tao Zhu personally determined the school site, sketched out the blueprint and inscribed the school name. 1970 Central South Forestry College and South China Agricultural College merged to form Guangdong Agriculture and Forestry College. 1974, the school moved from Guangzhou to Xupu County, Hunan Province, and was renamed Hunan Forestry College. 1978, the school restored the name of Central South Forestry College, which is directly under the management of the Ministry of Forestry. 198 1 year, the school moved to Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province. In 2000, the school was transformed into a provincial department. In 2003, the main body of the school moved to Changsha, realizing a historic return. In 2005, the Ministry of Education officially approved the school to be renamed as Central South University of Forestry and Technology. In 2006, the school merged with the former Hunan Economic Management Cadre College to form the new Central South University of Forestry and Technology.
Over the past 60 years, the school has been adhering to the motto of "being realistic and innovative, planting trees and educating people", persevering and forging ahead, accumulating rich experience in running schools and forming distinctive school characteristics. It has become a postdoctoral mobile station covering nine disciplines, including science, engineering, agriculture, literature, economics, law, management, teaching and art, and has the right to award doctoral degrees and master's degrees. More than 200,000 senior professionals have been trained for the country.
The school has a graduate school and 24 teaching units. The school has five post-doctoral research stations, six first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 18 first-level discipline master degree authorization points, and 15 master degree authorization categories; 2 key disciplines with national characteristics, 3 key disciplines (cultivation) and 5 key disciplines (cultivation) of the State Forestry and Grassland Bureau; 75 undergraduate majors, 7 national management majors, 5 national specialty, 13 Hunan specialty and 9 provincial key majors; 2 national excellent courses, 15 provincial excellent courses.
The school was successfully selected into Class B of the first-class universities in Hunan Province. 1 A first-class discipline (forestry) was approved as a domestic first-class construction discipline in Hunan Province, and five first-class disciplines (biology, ecology, forestry engineering, food science and engineering, landscape architecture) were approved as domestic first-class cultivation disciplines in Hunan Province.
