Random thoughts on social practice in summer vacation (1)

Weather: sunny

The summer social practice finally kicked off. Today is the first day of our practice, and we can say that we have been waiting for a long time. The first day's task is to conduct a questionnaire survey on the current situation of network application among urban residents in Lin 'an. The whole team 12 people were divided into five groups and rushed to the main streets, park squares, communities and other residential areas in Lin' an city. Every member of our team went to the destination with confidence and made a questionnaire survey. In the specific implementation process, we met all kinds of people, some of whom had a good attitude, actively cooperated with us, and were very willing to fill in the form, and made valuable suggestions on the design of the questionnaire. And some people obviously have bad attitudes, even against us. Of course, we just didn't like these people at first, but later we felt that conducting social surveys would more or less hit a wall and be rejected, so naturally we didn't take it seriously. At the end of one night, the expected goal was basically achieved, and each group distributed and recovered the questionnaire and returned to school smoothly. The first day's practice made us close to the society, understand the society, increase social experience and gain a lot!

Today is the second day of summer social practice, and we are still full of fighting spirit and confidence. Today, our main task is to continue to distribute questionnaires to Lin 'an citizens, and at the same time publicize some basic knowledge about the network and skills of searching information online. With yesterday's experience, it is naturally easier to do the same thing today, saving a lot of detours. In the process of sending out the questionnaire yesterday, we found that most elderly aunts and grandmothers generally don't know the Internet, let alone how to browse information online, so we didn't ask them to fill out the questionnaire, but gave them publicity materials about the Internet. Old people are extremely willing to take the time to look at the materials and learn some little knowledge to enrich their lives. We choose to distribute questionnaires in places where residents are concentrated, such as supermarkets, residential quarters, squares, etc., for publicity. At the end of the day, we found it much easier to distribute publicity materials than questionnaires, and the public's attitude was generally good. I think we should pay attention to this point in future social work, take into account the interests of ordinary citizens and try our best to achieve a win-win situation.

Today is the third day of summer social practice. We finished the main practical task two days ago. Today, all our team members get together and systematically sort out the questionnaires sent out two days ago. We actually sent out 200 questionnaires, and 200 of them were returned, valid 195. We have made a comprehensive and detailed classification and statistics on their age, education level, occupation, monthly income and views on the Internet.

We sat together and talked about some interesting things and some experiences in practice. This publicity and inspection activity really made each of our team members have a special taste, and everyone felt that they had gained a lot. Although, during this period, there is helplessness in the cold reception, but more is the joy of success. We have obtained a large number of reliable and scientific data through first-line investigation, which provides an effective reference for our statistical analysis. More importantly, it has exercised our ability to communicate with others, improved our initiative and enthusiasm to participate in society, and improved our sense of social ownership. When we are cold-shouldered, the uncomfortable psychology is hard to express; But when we were received by enthusiastic citizens and received their active cooperation, we were very excited. Although we are very tired and hard, when we see that we have successfully completed all these tasks and that many citizens have a deeper understanding of the network because of our activities, our fatigue and bitterness will disappear.

-A trip to Suzhou

2009.6.29

Weather: sunny

Today is the last day of our summer social practice. The team 12 people, led by Mr. Shen Yunbo from the School of Humanities, came to Suzhou with great interest to visit the famous garden buildings. As soon as the bus arrived in Suzhou City, we were fascinated by the beautiful scenery of Suzhou. Everyone is full of expectations for the trip to Suzhou. Of course, when we finally arrive at our destination today, we can't wait to see Suzhou. We visited famous scenic spots such as Forest Garden, Liuyuan Garden and Dingyuan. After reading it, it is really amazing that a small garden can actually build such a feature and such a building. It's really a surprise. During the visit, I also learned about the small means of garden architecture, such as cloisters and framed views. These expressions can make tourists feel that there are mountains outside the mountains and scenery outside the scenery.

The trip to Suzhou is the last link of our summer social practice. Participating in this social practice has increased my social experience and knowledge. At the same time, it also allows everyone to take care of each other during the trip, which enhances friendship. It is really sincere to say that this opportunity has not been wasted. I will definitely participate in social activities more actively in the future and exercise myself in practice!
