Among the 295 wax gourd germplasm resources, there are 66.5% waxy flour varieties 196, 9.8% medium flour varieties, 45 less flour varieties 15.2% and 6.5% non-flour varieties 19. There were 6 cases (2%) with unknown wax powder coverage. There are 54 early-maturing resources, accounting for 18.3 1% of the total, 52.54% of medium-maturing varieties, and 86 late-maturing varieties, accounting for 29. 15%. There are 27 female flowers with nodes less than 10, accounting for 9. 15% of the total, and there are1~19 with nodes, accounting for 53.56% of the total.
There are few reports about wax gourd germplasm resources in China, which are far less in-depth than Chinese cabbage, tomato, cucumber and other vegetables. At present, the research institutes that are systematically studying wax gourd mainly include Chengdu No.1 Agricultural Science Research Institute of Sichuan Province and Vegetable Research Institute of Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Hunan Changsha Vegetable Research Institute and Guangxi Academy of Agricultural Sciences Horticultural Research Institute are also breeding varieties. Except the article Collection and Early Maturity Research and Utilization of Wax gourd resources published by Zhang Jianjun and others in the paper of China Horticultural Society in 2002, there are few domestic research reports on Wax gourd germplasm resources.
