I. Proposing the theme of the activity:
With the continuous improvement of people's living standards and the continuous growth of per capita income, many primary school students have developed morbid obesity caused by improper diet and inactivity. These abnormal obesity phenomena have brought a lot of inconvenience to the life and study of "chubby pier". Since the students entered the fifth grade, I found that there are many "chubby" students in our class. Queue training, the team is always uneven, there are always a few conspicuous belly bulging from the team. The school is really fighting, and they don't have suitable sportswear to wear. It's really funny to see the sportswear they tied up. Other students in class with windows open are too cold, but these "chubby" people are all sweating; When physical education class came back, they all panicked. This series of phenomena reminds me that obesity among primary school students is not an individual phenomenon. This semester's research study, when determining the theme, our whole class discussed and unanimously decided to study "obesity and health of primary school students"
Second, the activity objectives:
1, let students choose a topic from their lives, collect data on primary school students' obesity knowledge and students' physical condition, understand the reasons of primary school students' obesity, know the adverse effects of obesity on health, make a weight loss plan and learn to write research reports. In this way, the number of obese people on campus is gradually decreasing, and they can better participate in their study and life.
2. Through the research of this topic, students can use the methods of investigation, experiment, interview and information retrieval to study independently, cooperatively and exploringly, so as to cultivate students' innovative spirit and practical ability.
3. Through the study of obesity, students can experience the happiness of sharing and success, increase their sense of social responsibility, and cultivate good qualities of loving life and science.
Third, the activity time: I confirm that the activity time is April-May.
Fourth, the specific process and method of activity implementation:
In this process, I divide it into three stages: preparation stage, implementation stage and summary stage (courseware demonstration).
(1) Preparation stage: After all, I used the time of the comprehensive practical activity class.
Students discussed and exchanged three research questions, namely, what is the cause of obesity, what is the harm of obesity, and how to prevent and treat obesity (the courseware shows three questions); Research methods can be found in the internet, books, campus surveys, social surveys, interviews and so on. (courseware demonstration); Students are divided into groups according to their hobbies. Each group has chosen the group leader and key students, and each group has made its own group activity plan (courseware presentation group plan). In this way, the problems to be studied come from the students themselves, and the problems to be solved are of interest to them. How to solve problems has become their own needs, which greatly improves the enthusiasm of students to participate in activities and prepares for the later implementation stage.
(2) Implementation stage:
At this stage, students work in groups according to their own needs. Let me introduce their activities separately.
The first group (investigating the causes of obesity):
1. Collect data about obesity of primary school students.
Find out the standard or formula for judging primary school students' obesity, so that students participating in the study can accurately judge whether they are obese or not.
2. Design a questionnaire to investigate the students in this class. And sorting out the questionnaire, statistics of the students' obesity in this class, including the statistics of obesity rate and the statistics of the number of people exceeding the standard in each percentage section, analyzing the contents of the questionnaire and preliminarily analyzing the reasons for the students' obesity in this class.
3. Design a parent questionnaire to further understand the causes of students' obesity (such as heredity, development, diet, etc.). ) and make a statistical analysis of parents' questionnaires.
4. Scientifically analyze and explain the reasons of primary school students' obesity by surfing the Internet, consulting books and interviewing doctors.
Judging from the investigation report written by their group at last, they have spent a lot of thoughts and done a lot of effective research. Please look at their survey on the obesity of students in this class.
After the report:
We * * * got back 60 valid answers (three of them forgot to measure their weight). Results 15 students were obese, and the obesity rate reached 25%, of which 7 1, 4% were overweight by 20% and 14 by 30%. (courseware)
Report the students' diet, activities and rest after the questionnaire;
We * * * distributed 62 questionnaires and collected 62. Most students think that the best way to lose weight is to strengthen exercise, but obese students generally exercise less. Most students think obesity is harmful, but they don't know enough about it. It can be concluded that the main reasons of primary school students' obesity are partial eclipse, love of meat, lack of exercise and insufficient understanding of the harm of obesity.
Report to parents of obese students after questionnaire survey;
This time, we surveyed 14 parents and got the following data: 4 parents were born fat, 10 parents were not fat, picky eaters and non-picky eaters were equally divided, 5 parents were sleepy, 9 parents were not sleepy, 6 parents had exercise habits, 9 parents had exercise habits, and 13 parents were not developed, with 65,438 parents. It can be concluded that there are not many obese pupils at birth, which is related to heredity, picky eaters have little to do with obesity, inactivity is easy to lead to obesity, and development leads to obesity is not the most likely.
In their series of activities, teachers' guidance is essential, such as questionnaire design, questionnaire analysis and sorting. Teachers should give timely guidance.
The second group (obesity risk group):
Their group mainly did the following work:
1, combined with the questionnaire of the first group, to understand parents' and students' understanding of obesity.
2. Interview chubby children in our class to learn about their daily life and psychological status.
3. Analyze the results of the interview.
4. Learn more about the harm of obesity in primary school students by consulting information or consulting experts online.
They wrote a survey report by interviewing chubby in our class, and analyzed the harm of obesity from both physical and psychological aspects:
Eight students think that obesity brings inconvenience to their life and study. Eight students usually don't take part in sports because they are all sweaty. Some students even dare not go to physical education class and use various excuses to avoid running.
Most chubby people are laughed at by their classmates because of their obesity, and some classmates give them nicknames. Some students show inferiority complex, and most students think that obesity has a bad influence on their growth, both physically and psychologically.
The third group (weight loss prevention group):
The group mainly carried out the following activities:
1, interview the physical education teacher of the school;
2. Interview with hospital experts;
3. Design handwritten newspaper to publicize health knowledge;
3. Go to the library or check the weight loss plan online.
They wrote an investigation report after interviewing doctors and PE teachers.
The third stage: the summary stage.
Using the time of the comprehensive practical activity class, each group shows its own activity results.
The cause group, the harm group and the cause treatment group of obesity exchanged their own investigation reports and conclusive papers respectively, and analyzed and solved their own problems reasonably. Individual students also shared their interview diaries with their classmates and showed their handwritten newspapers.
Activity Extension: At the end of May, our research on "Obesity and Health of Primary School Students" ended, but the purpose of our research is to make those obese children really bid farewell to obesity and move towards a healthy life, so those obese classmates in the class will start according to their research results.
He joined the ranks of losing weight with chubby weight practice, reasonable diet, healthy diet and scientific exercise, and said that he would drive his relatives around him to live a healthy life together.
Reflection on verb (abbreviation of verb);
In the process of comprehensive practical activities, there is life education everywhere, and all kinds of experience and knowledge are hard to obtain in books and classes. In this activity, students are initiators, participants and beneficiaries. They gain a lot from it: students get a correct understanding of society by entering social scenes and contacting social reality; In the social investigation and investigation activities, they have developed sympathy, learned to take the initiative to care about people or things around them, and can use their knowledge and ability to deal with problems.
In this activity, students participated in interviews, questionnaires, analysis of questionnaires, writing interview records and investigation reports. Finally, the students in the group wrote their own small papers, and each group had its own gains. This kind of harvest is not only to master scientific knowledge, but more importantly, their ability has been exercised in the activities, as Xu Xiaoyan wrote in his interview diary: "I really hope to participate in such activities more often in the future."
However, there are still many things worth thinking about in this activity. For example, in the early stage of research, the activities were not very standardized and many problems were encountered. For example, students feel at a loss and it is not worth starting. Some students in the group were not enthusiastic about participating, and then the activities became normal under the guidance and guidance of the teacher. Due to the limitation of activity time, we only conducted questionnaires and interviews with students in this class, and the survey data has great limitations. If some activities can take various forms, they will certainly attract children to participate more actively.
In the whole activity, teachers are both instructors and participants. In order to fully display students' talents, teachers should "guide" artistically and have proper "Tao". This puts higher demands on teachers. Only by continuous exploration and experience can teachers and students get their own different development in comprehensive practical activities.
