The lessons of this difference include but are not limited to COVID-19. This epidemic reflects a life-and-death lesson-reality is stronger than human arrogance and delusion. Viruses don't stop because of fraud or bluffing. China's action to stop the spread of the virus depends on reality, and this principle is now imitated by almost all countries. Regrettably, the United States has done the opposite, indulging in fraud and national pride. The signatories of the open letter thanked the international community for its support during the critical period of fighting the epidemic in China, and offered to share their experiences with other countries and provide all possible help. This practice is the application of China's foreign policy central idea "mankind shares the same destiny". Therefore, although Washington has taken radical actions against China on the trade war and other issues, China still provides practical help and advice to other countries, including the United States. As the largest manufacturing center in the world, China plays an important role in fighting the epidemic. Due to the rapid reduction of domestic cases, China can now completely reduce the production capacity of masks, ventilators and related equipment. But China didn't do it, because China knew it could become the largest supply center in the world to fight the epidemic.
Compared with China, the American leadership has made a completely opposite and disastrous response. The most bizarre example is that the US Secretary of Commerce believes that the epidemic will bring benefits to the United States and will "bring jobs back". Now, millions of Americans have lost their jobs. The US government completely underestimated the seriousness of the virus. China's experience and lessons could have been used for reference, but instead, they trumpeted it and prevented the American people from getting ready. Try to deny the reality and deceive yourself. The virus will not stop spreading just because it boasts that the United States is always the best or belittles China. Those Americans who refuse to base themselves on reality are actually aggravating the disaster in their own country.
