The success of the first atomic bomb explosion. Under the unified leadership of the Central Committee and with the joint efforts of scientific and technical personnel and cadres and workers, the first atomic bomb made in China exploded successfully in Lop Nur, Xinjiang on June1964+1October 16.
3. China's first manned space flight. On June 5th, 2003, China's first manned spacecraft, Shenzhou 5, was successfully launched. Yang Liwei, the first astronaut in China, became the first China tourist in the vast space. Shenzhou 5's 2 1 hour 23-minute space trip marks that China has become the third country in the world to independently carry out manned space activities after Russia and the United States.
4. The railway entered Tibet. Qinghai-Tibet Railway, referred to as Qinghai-Tibet Railway for short, is a Class I national railway connecting Xining City, Qinghai Province to Lhasa City, Xizang Autonomous Region. It is one of the four major projects in China in the new century, the first railway leading to the hinterland of Tibet, and the plateau railway with the highest altitude and the longest route in the world.
Xu Haifeng shot the first gold medal in the history of China Olympic Games. Xu Haifeng won the men's pistol 60-shot slow-fire champion at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, becoming the first gold medal winner in this Olympic Games and the first Olympic champion in China, achieving the breakthrough of "zero" gold medal in the history of China Olympic Games.
