At present, there are a series of problems in China, such as the large proportion of agricultural population, the difficulty in transferring a large number of rural surplus labor, the tightening of agricultural resources constraints, the weak foundation of modern science and technology, the low productivity of agricultural labor, and the backward construction of agricultural infrastructure. In view of the present situation of China's agriculture, the government must raise agriculture to the height of modern basic industries, equip agriculture with modern industries, support agriculture with modern science and technology, have advanced development concepts, and formulate modern systems suitable for China's national conditions. It is of great practical value and significance to ensure the support for agriculture from a macro perspective and take the road of agricultural modernization with China characteristics.

This paper briefly analyzes the connotation and characteristics of China's agricultural modernization, combs the development course of agricultural modernization in detail, briefly summarizes the achievements made since China's agricultural modernization was put forward, and analyzes the important problems and reasons existing in the process of promoting agricultural modernization in China. Finally, the countermeasures to speed up the process of agricultural modernization are put forward in order to provide reference for China's agricultural modernization and inject new vitality into agricultural production, farmers becoming rich and rural prosperity.
