What do prison guards do?
Prison guards refer to the people's police who are engaged in prison management, penalty execution and criminal reform according to law. Prison people's police is an important part of Chinese people's police. Strictly abide by the Constitution and laws, be loyal to their duties, enforce the law impartially, strictly observe discipline, and be honest and upright.

According to Article 2 of the People's Police Law, China's people's police include the people's police of public security organs, state security organs, prisons and drug rehabilitation management organs, as well as the judicial police of people's courts and people's procuratorates.

According to the provisions of China's prison law and the people's police law, the prison people's police are mainly composed of the following personnel:

(1) Civil servants of prison administration organs at all levels;

(2) Civil servants in prisons and juvenile reformatories;

(3) Scientific research personnel and teaching staff of various prison scientific research and education institutions.

Status:

There are 68 1 prisons in China, and there are 300,000 people in prison.

The prison reform and system modernization in China began with the Shanghai Concession in 1865. The British consul in Shanghai set up a "consular court" in the concession and a court prison in Xiamen Road (converted into a well-equipped Tilanqiao prison in the early 20th century, sometimes called the "Bastille in the East"), which was responsible for the judicial treatment of overseas Chinese in Britain and the detention of prisoners, thus introducing advanced western judicial procedures and prison management systems into China.

The prison police system in China is relatively perfect.

The police of People's Republic of China (PRC) People's Prison are subordinate to the Ministry of Justice, not to the Ministry of Public Security.

However, the dress of the prison police is basically the same as that of the public security system, with the word "judicial" on the badge to show the difference. The alarm number of the prison people's police is 7, while the alarm number of the people's police of the public security organ is 6.

The police rank and the police rank are consistent with the public security system.
