The Central Conservatory of Music was founded in 1950, and its predecessor was several distinctive colleges and departments of higher music in the 1920s and 1940s. The composition department of the Central Conservatory of Music aims at cultivating composers and theoretical talents of composition technology, takes the specialized courses of composition as the core, and relies on the courses of acoustics, polyphony, analysis of forms and works, orchestral orchestration, solfeggio, electronic music, modern music creation, analysis and research, forming a composition teaching system integrating teaching, research and creation.
