Confucius said, "You and Wang and Xu have always had a friendship of benevolence and righteousness. After their death, their friendship does not match, so I won't take it back." It can be seen that even in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, where personality is flamboyant and free speech is advocated, it is also a self-cultivation behavior to belittle others at will.

The contradiction between Wang Xizhi and Wang Shu is also recorded in detail. Wang Xizhi, a frivolous and upright man, a scholar and a refined scholar. Wang Shu is frank, not impatient, and an honest and capable official. They were equally famous when they were young, and Wang Shu's fame grew bigger and bigger in his later years. Wang Xizhi was dissatisfied and slandered him from time to time, so the two did not agree. Later, Wang Shu became Wang Xizhi's boss, and Wang Xizhi just "called the princess sick and ended up filled with indignation."

Derogatory words, water under the bridge. It is a pity that a generation of book saints, with high standards and independence, unexpectedly fell down in the section. Living in groups without criticizing others is actually the way of life.

When friends get together, it is inevitable that they will have a good chat. The purpose of communication is to learn from each other, improve literary accomplishment and moral accomplishment, and "take literature as friends and help others with kindness". If you live in groups all day, you don't say anything, belittle others, gossip or even make things out of nothing. Such behavior is unknown to rural women, let alone scholars! What is in your heart will be in your eyes, and what a person says is a reflection of his heart. As the old saying goes, "people who are right and wrong are right and wrong", and the talk of living in groups is the most intuitive yardstick to measure a person's self-cultivation.

A friend's motto is "live in groups, shut up and live alone." He explained that living in groups and keeping one's mouth shut means not talking about right and wrong, gossip, people's evil, and seeing strange things; To live alone and guard one's heart is to prohibit jealousy and frivolous heart and cultivate tolerance and introspection. The heart is the root, the words are the leaves, and the roots are deep to moisten the leaves. Being able to keep your mouth shut when you live in groups stems from a cultivated heart.

How can I keep my mouth shut in a group? A Zen master believed that writing had to go through three barriers. Side 1: Is this true? Side 2: Is this good? Side 3: Is this necessary? I think there is another side: are you willing to let the parties hear? Because your criticism of others is likely to reach their ears. Often believe that with these sieves, there will be no boring words to export, which will hurt people.

Wang Xizhi has flaws, but the book saint is still a book saint, because the flaws can't be covered up. If mediocrity is like our generation, if we can't stand up and make contributions, if we don't keep our mouths shut and cultivate our morality, how will we face people?

It is an important lesson in life to read Shi Shuo Xin Yu, think about the gains and losses of predecessors, and live in groups and keep your mouth shut.
