There are many shortcomings in the traditional art education mode to train design talents, such as the lack of knowledge about process flow, materials, experience in dealing with customers and overall management of technology, which leads designers to stay at the aesthetic level of artistic feeling more, and the designed products are not practical, or there are obstacles in function and technology.
In this case, we must clearly realize that although the design art education in colleges and universities is transformed from traditional art and arts and crafts teaching, there are inevitably shortcomings in the early stage of development and various puzzles and difficulties in the transition period. However, based on the role of design art in the process of modernization and the needs of discipline development, it is an urgent and important task to reform, standardize and adjust the teaching system of design art. The Ministry of Education put forward in the teaching content and curriculum reform plan of higher education facing the 2 1 century that the fundamental purpose of the reform is to reform and update the training mode, adjust the curriculum structure, enrich and update the educational content with the new achievements of modern culture and scientific and technological development, and gradually realize the modernization of the teaching content, curriculum system and educational methods and means. At the same time, there are also some problems in the design art education in colleges and universities to varying degrees, such as emphasizing classroom teaching over social practice, emphasizing virtual topics over design and development, which has caused a serious disconnect between teaching and practice, and the phenomenon of high scores and low abilities is widespread, which is extremely disproportionate to the rapid development of design disciplines. We can try to further strengthen students' practical ability and establish a brand-new teaching model through curriculum reform.
First, optimize the curriculum structure, update the teaching content and highlight the professional advantages.
1. Characteristics of curriculum structure
Design art is an interdisciplinary subject between art and science, and its characteristics must be reflected in the curriculum structure. In terms of professional theory courses, interdisciplinary courses of humanities and natural sciences related to professional direction should be offered. Take graphic design as an example, we should offer it selectively, such as marketing, consumer psychology, industrial design regulations, public relations, advertising, communication, applied mathematics, materials science, ergonomics and so on.
