How smart is the baby? Science magazine: Babies who can't talk have logical thinking.

If I ask you, when did children have logical thinking? You might say two or three years old, because at that time children began to ask "why".

But scientists believe that logical reasoning comes from language, that is, babies will gradually have the ability of logical reasoning after they can speak.

But a recent study found that this ability appeared earlier, and babies who can't talk have amazing logical thinking.

The study, published in the journal Science, said that one-year-old babies who can't talk can understand reasoning and even express surprise at illogical things.

There are 144 babies in this experiment, half of them are 12 months, and the other half are 19 months, and they still can't talk. Researchers use confused subjects to test whether babies will "syllogism", that is, reject: A or B, either A or B.

First, the babies saw a dinosaur and a flower in the cartoon short film. Their upper parts looked the same.

Then dinosaurs and flowers were blocked by a board, and then a cup "scooped up" one of them from behind the baffle. Babies can see a small part of the object exposed at the mouth of the cup, and they begin to guess what it is.

Then the baffle was lowered to reveal the dinosaur behind. Then we know that it must be a flower in the cup. So will the baby think like this: since there are only dinosaurs behind the baffle without flowers, then the cup must be full of flowers?

The answer is yes. When they saw the dinosaur behind the baffle, they looked at the cup and their pupils dilated, indicating that they were guessing what was in the cup.

Another point is to confirm the baby's logical thinking. At the end of the short film, the dinosaur leaves the picture and the items in the cup are exposed. The short film gives two results: if the flowers are finally exposed, the babies' expressions are normal; If the final result is illogical, the dinosaur appears in the cup, and the babies stare at it for a longer time, showing an expression of surprise and doubt, indicating that they have also seen the contradiction inside.

As a control, the same experiment was carried out on adults. Like babies, adults will also have reactions such as line-of-sight deviation and pupil dilation at several key points, but the speed is faster than that of babies, and everything else is exactly the same.

This experiment proves that babies can also use known information to reason and judge unknown information through exclusion. Logical reasoning ability has appeared in the early stage of development, much earlier than the age of 3 that we usually think.

The baby is so smart, how to cultivate it? There are many opportunities in life. Taking advantage of these opportunities to talk to your baby can not only tell your child the logic in life, but also promote your child's language development.

0 1, life is regular.

Babies have no concept of time, and an orderly life is very important to them. When to get up, when it gets dark, when to eat, and take a bath before going to bed ... In the process of doing this with our baby, we will say a lot to him, such as "Let's go out to play after dinner", "It's getting dark, it's time for us to go to bed" and so on.

These languages are telling the baby some concepts of time, the reasons for doing things, the order of doing things and so on. These life experiences are cultivating logical thinking.

02. Observe life

For example, understand the space, say "climb up" and "go down the stairs" to the baby when going upstairs and downstairs; Fold the clothes and put them in the closet, telling the baby what is inside and outside; Nothing to chat with the baby: "the cup is on the table, the ball is under the table", and so on.

For example, to understand causality, show the baby when turning on the light: "If you press the switch like this, the light will turn on, and then the light will go out"; There is a switch on the stereo, "so the sound becomes louder and the sound becomes smaller in turn"; "It's cold and windy outside, so we won't be cold when we put on cotton-padded jackets", and so on.

For example, understanding numbers, socks and shoes are paired, and a pair is two; A bicycle has two wheels, and a scooter has four wheels. This flower has five petals ... numbers can be seen everywhere in life, and you can talk to your baby at any time.

03, educational toys

There are many baby educational toys now. It should be noted that the more expensive the toys, the better. Compared with colorful, luminous and vocal toys, simple puzzles and building blocks are better. Toys with sound and photoelectricity are only more likely to attract the baby's attention, while simple puzzles and building blocks are more likely to stimulate the baby's active learning potential.

For example, a kind of jigsaw puzzle called "smart toy", in a relatively quiet environment, babies can practice fine hand movements by arranging and placing it, observe and think about the contents of chess pieces, and infer and judge unknown information by using known information. What are the contradictions in spelling? These thinking activities have well exercised logical thinking and improved concentration.

The baby just started playing puzzles. It is recommended to start with a simple puzzle. The elimination method, like the scientific experiment introduced earlier, starts with the elimination of one item. This set of "simple matching puzzle cards" is designed to satisfy the cognition of 1-3-year-old babies, and also to teach them about things around them, such as daily necessities, food, animals, transportation and so on.

The front of the puzzle card is brightly colored object graphics, and the back is the silhouette and photos of the object. Babies can do puzzles in two ways. There is not only one more way of reasoning, but also one more way of understanding things. There are also Chinese and English words on the card. Teaching your baby to know these words also improves your baby's language ability and opens up bilingual enlightenment.

This seemingly simple toy can exercise the baby's hand-eye coordination ability, observation and reasoning ability, concentration, cognition and language ability, which can be described as multiple goals.

This set of enlightenment puzzle cards has four themes, 128 puzzle card. At present, the activity price of such educational toys is only 69.9 yuan, and two cups of coffee can train the baby's logical thinking and concentration and improve his cognitive ability. Why not?
