1. Doctoral students publish a research academic paper in international high-level academic journals with the first author (excluding the signature of the tutor) and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences as the first signature unit (see appendix 1), and the number of papers published when applying for doctoral degree can be reduced by 1.

2. Obtaining the national, provincial and ministerial scientific research achievement award or invention patent (ranking first, excluding the signature of the tutor, and the patent application has been officially made public or obtained the patent authorization certificate) can be equivalent to publishing an academic paper (for master students, it is equivalent to a paper required by the scientific research achievements of the dissertation defense qualification, and for doctoral students, it is equivalent to the second paper required by the scientific research achievements of the dissertation defense qualification). Appraisal of scientific research achievements cannot replace academic papers.

3. For graduate students who are not suitable for publishing academic papers due to the confidentiality of scientific research projects, in-depth technical reports can be submitted according to relevant standards, and the project leader will apply, and the scientific research management department will review and issue certificates and report them to the Academic Degrees Committee for approval.

4. If each research group formulates the requirements of scientific research achievements for postgraduate thesis defense qualification by itself, the requirements of scientific research achievements formulated by each research group shall prevail, but the standards formulated shall not be lower than the college standards.
