Looking back day by day, the time spent in HKUST has become shorter and shorter. When I first came to Polytechnic University four years ago, I was still a high school student who knew nothing. I am so eager for everything in big cities and ivory towers. But now time flies, and I have grown into a young man.

I am a graduate and have some views on reality and the future. Looking forward to the future career, although I am preparing for the postgraduate entrance examination and will not be employed for the time being, I also have some general ideas in my mind. Someone once said that what you see with your eyes is where you are going. Great men are great because they are determined to do great things.

Therefore, to make your life wonderful, you must first give yourself a clear ideal, which is difficult enough, but attractive enough for you to pursue. Graduate students are my first goal and the cornerstone of my success. To tell the truth, I have always had lingering regrets since I chose the major of energy and power and came to the University of Technology.

Although this is a bit funny, it is a bit childish. However, I have to continue studying. Now that you have graduated, it's no use regretting. I can only comfort myself with 360 lines of proverbs and let myself open up a world here. Probably because of these, I have strengthened my determination to take the postgraduate entrance examination.

For the future career planning, I think we should first recognize ourselves and make a summary. My advantages are outstanding abstract thinking ability and strong thirst for knowledge, and I will not stay at the superficial phenomenon of things. I will ask the curious things to the end. This process brought me infinite pleasure, especially at the moment of solving the problem, which made people feel relieved.

I think this feature determines that my future work must be research-oriented work. My weakness is that I am not good at words, and I don't talk much in my life. For four years, this really affected my communication and made me lose many opportunities for development. But it will also keep me away from the complicated and secular things in school and help me study with peace of mind.

But shortcomings are shortcomings, which I will try to correct in the future. After analyzing its own advantages and disadvantages, it is necessary to analyze the development prospects of this major. Energy and power majors design many aspects such as thermal energy engineering, heat engine, fluid machinery, air conditioning and refrigeration. There is no denying that the graduates he trained, like other engineering majors, are all necessary talents in society.

However, famous universities all have energy and power majors, and under the pressure of employment, engineering undergraduates have no advantage. Based on the above, I also have some basic ideas about my career planning. The first step out of the undergraduate course is to continue studying, so the first step is to take the postgraduate entrance examination.

From the depth of knowledge, graduate students learn more than undergraduate students, master more cutting-edge technologies and have greater challenges, which I very much look forward to. My plan is to improve my professional level qualitatively during my graduate study. If you want to publish high-quality papers after graduation, you need to apply for your own patents and so on.

In order to achieve this, I need to keep learning and innovating. The teacher said that we don't have much new professional knowledge, so we just rely on bad brothers to ask our predecessors for advice. Therefore, in the early days of graduate students, I will constantly dabble in all aspects of knowledge and lay a theoretical foundation for the later practical research.
