In the last part of the third midfield, we worked with other players to develop the ability of midfield to connect defense and frontcourt.

Vallecano steals the midfield connection -7v7+3

The following steals came from a training session of coach Juan peinado in Vallecano (U19) 2015/16.

The following is the training video:

This training is very interesting, it involves all players, covering the concept from backcourt organization to connecting the front and back courts.

Training institutions

In the 30x20 area, seven attackers (blue) stood on the sideline of the area. Three midfielders (yellow) teamed up with blue players against seven red defenders in the area. Yellow and red players can move freely in the 30x20 area.

Central defenders (Blue No.4 and Blue No.5) can move along their designated 10 code line. Full-backs (Blue No.2 and Blue No.3) and wingers (Blue No.7 and Blue 1 1) can move within 15 yards. The center (blue number 9) can move within 20 yards.

target

Blue team (fouler): When controlling the ball in the third midfield, keep the position and help control the ball. The key point is to keep the formation and form the passing choice of the front and back balls.

Yellow Team (third midfield): Hold the ball, play the center (blue 9) from the central defender (blue 4, blue 5), cooperate with the blue team to create a passing route and keep the formation moving forward.

Red team (defender): compress the space to identify the oppression signal, prevent the opponent from advancing in the third midfield, and look for opportunities to regain the ball. If we get the ball back, the red team will cooperate with the yellow team to play 10v7 against the blue team entering the area. The red and yellow team penetrated the other team's center line by dribbling or passing the ball, and the blue team tried its best to regain the ball.

Teaching essentials

Use the formation and position of the midfield to create quantitative and positional advantages in the middle.

Third, the midfield angle, distance and organization area should be infiltrated effectively and patiently.

Support the style of play, provide transfer opportunities and pull opponents.

The key point-break through the defense line

As the defender (red) builds a series of defense lines, three midfielders (yellow No.6, No.8, 10) need to occupy positions, provide the option of crossing opponents and keep in touch as a whole.

In the scene above, the defender (Blue No.5) controlled the ball and cooperated with Blue No.4, which broke the balance between Red No.9 1 1 and No.7, which created an opportunity for the back waist (Yellow No.6) to occupy the position and receive the penetrating pass from Blue No.5.

The blue aid player must take the initiative to catch the ball when the lower back is stared at by the red number 10. The ball was given to the third person who was out of position (Blue No.2), and he kicked the ball directly to the midfield (Yellow No.8), thus throwing five defenders behind the ball and forming a 5v2 offensive advantage.

Midfielders should be on different horizontal and vertical lines to provide a position advantage, so that the yellow number 10 can be a transit point for forwards and attract the last defender (red number 5) before the ball reaches the center (blue number 9).

Key points-the running position and position selection of the third midfield

The scene of "breaking through the defense line" shows how to run and choose positions effectively, help the team control the ball, break through the other team's defense line and move forward steadily.

The coordinated movement of three midfielders (Huang 6, 8, 10) can create many triangles in the area, so that each catcher has at least two passing options.

It should also be noted that the three midfielders keep close contact with the support player (blue) in each passing triangle, and they are also interrelated. This location choice is very important for creating quantity and location advantages, which can be promoted step by step.

Key points-width, depth, third-person movement and free man

The positions of support players (blue) and midfielders (yellow) provide options for passing on both sides and in depth, and can also pull the opposing defenders to create penetrating space.

In the scene above, the width of the court is provided by blue numbers 2, 3, 7 and 1 1, and the depth is provided by the back waist (yellow number 6), which occupies the central position and provides the choice of passing the ball after passing. He can move, infiltrate, advance or retreat.

When the central defender (blue 4) passes the ball to the left defender (blue 3), the defender is pulled to the left of the penalty area. Yellow 10 retreats the ball from blue No.3, attracting red No.8 and No.6, creating space for the third run of the latter No.6.

Huang No.8 observed the space behind the opponent's defense line, advanced to become a free man, and received a forward pass from No.6 in the middle. Blue No.7 moved forward, the frontcourt formed 2v 1, and finally hit the center (Blue No.9).

Point transfer

If the red team regains control of the ball, the blue team will turn to the defensive state as soon as possible to compress the space. The red team can now play against the yellow midfield 10v7, and penetrate the opponent's center line by dribbling or passing the ball.

Advanced: the winger cuts in and the full-back inserts forward.

When the blue and yellow players control the ball and pass the ball forward successfully, the wingers (blue 1 1 and blue 7) can enter the area to cooperate with the third midfield (yellow 6, yellow 8 and yellow 10).

In this way, the full-backs (Blue No.2 and Blue No.3) can move forward along the 30-yard line, forming a number advantage on the side.

Key point-offensive advantage

When wingers (Blue No.7 and 1 1) cut into the court, more passing options and forms will be formed in the offensive half, because full-backs (Blue No.2 and No.3) can also support the offensive striker.

To sum up …

This series of laps can let players know the position and attack structure on the court, and use the concepts of third-person running position and free man to create a triangular passing route and push forward through the middle road.
