It wasn't until the weather turned cold that we could see that the pine and cypress withered last.
Confucius made an analogy between the cold in winter and the withering of pine and cypress. Confucius was born in Shandong. During his travel around the world, he may not have been to the south, that is, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan and other places. In the whole area north of the Yellow River, all plants will fall and wither in autumn. After winter, the earth is white, no green plants can be seen, and even the river will freeze and not flow. Only trees such as pines and cypresses will be left. Confucius believes that this is just like a person's willpower, which will not change no matter what difficulties and hardships he encounters. Only in this way can a person's strong will be manifested. Only when a person has a strong will like a pine and cypress can he achieve eternal success in life.
Some people think that the cold more than 200 million years ago killed most plants, but it produced cold-resistant conifers and cypresses. More than 2,000 years ago, the war caused the decline of the Zhou Dynasty, and Confucius lamented that "when the cold comes and the summer goes, you will know that the pine and cypress will wither". Pines and cypresses stand proudly in the cold, just like people who maintain lofty dignity and integrity in troubled times and adversity! Therefore, the ancients called Song, Zhu and Li "three friends of the old cold" and praised their enduring quality in winter, that is, praised those who persevered, adhered to the truth and guarded justice.
When writing an argumentative essay, I feel that I will use an example, then analyze it and combine my feelings and opinions.
China's example reminds me of Sima Qian, but Sima Qian wrote n times, and I'm really embarrassed to talk about him. I only think of Copernicus and Bruno abroad.
