The brush used in the Han bamboo slips in Juyan has the brushwork meaning that the seal script turns and flows, and some radicals retain the three-dimensional shape of the seal script, as well as the wavy strokes and flat shape of the seal script, which is an important material evidence in the evolution of the seal script.
Most of them were written by middle-and lower-level officials and soldiers guarding the frontier at that time, and some of them were written by western expedition merchants, so their writing style showed the diverse elegance and charm of folk calligraphy in Han Dynasty, with elegant and simple natural beauty.
It is not only rough and pungent, but also full of grandeur and simplicity, which provides a part of extremely complete chronological ink for studying the development of Chinese characters and the history of calligraphy art from the middle Western Han Dynasty to the early Eastern Han Dynasty.
"Juyan Han Bamboo Slips" are named after these Han bamboo slips were found in Juyan area of Ejina Banner in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Shoushui Jinguan in Jinta County, east of Jiayuguan in Gansu Province. Among the numerous Han bamboo slips, Juyan Han bamboo slips has the largest number and the widest influence.
