1984 and two archaeological sites discovered in 2003 are consistent with the records of Jiangning Weaving Department and Xiyuan in the existing literature. After expert argumentation, the former site of Jiangning weaving department was finally determined. In 2004, at the suggestion of Scholar Zhou, the Nanjing Municipal Government began to rebuild the Jinling Dream of Red Mansions Cultural Museum on the former site of Jiangning Weaving Department.

Jiangning Weaving Museum is located at No.23 Changjiang Road1Xuanwu District, Nanjing, and officially opened to the public on May 13. After the opening, the museum will be renamed Jiangning Weaving Hall from the original Jiangning Weaving Hall.

Jiangning Weaving Museum, located in Daxing Palace in the center of Nanjing, is a modern museum built on the former site of Jiangning Weaving. The design theme is "Whitehead meets Jiangnan", and the style is planned to be shaped according to the poem "Three mountains and a half fall outside the green hills, like this egret is divided into Dao Jiang". It involves the history of Jiangning Weaving Institute itself, the brocade production history of the weaving bureau under the jurisdiction of Jiangning Weaving Institute, and the rise and fall history of A Dream of Red Mansions and its authors Cao Xueqin and Cao Shi, which are closely related to Jiangning Weaving Institute. Brocade of the Mansion, Brocade in the Museum, A Dream of Red Mansions on the First Floor, and Garden in the Garden are displayed in the museum, and two fine exhibitions are temporarily put out, so that visitors can appreciate and study the history of cultural relics, trace back the history, increase their knowledge and broaden their horizons. Jiangning weaving has existed for more than 260 years and witnessed the vicissitudes of the Qing Dynasty from prosperity to decline. In the meantime, Jiangning Weaving Institute became famous for its southern tour. The weaving machine room has created the peak and brilliance of China Yunjin craft. In order to show the ups and downs of this historical process, the museum selected hundreds of precious cultural relics by various exhibitions, which clearly reproduced the context of the rise and fall of Jiangning Weaving Institute, leaving a magnificent scene and infinite reverie for future generations.
