Mifei is famous for his calligraphy. He has a deep understanding of the pen, composition and charm of the previous generation of famous artists. It is precisely because he learned too much from the ancients that he attracted the ridicule of "receiving words". Mi Fei once said, "When I was young, I failed to get married. People say that my book is a collection of ancient Chinese characters. I make good use of all my strengths and have been making it. Since I have been a family since I was a child, I don't know what my ancestors are. " He deeply understands that it is essential to learn tradition if he wants to get married successfully. The so-called "ji zi" shows to some extent that Mifei has made great efforts in tradition. Mi Fei's achievement comes from hard training the day after tomorrow: when he was young, he studied Yan, Liu, Ou, Chu and so on hard, and persisted to the pool every day, laying a solid foundation. Miffy writes books seriously, too. He said, "I have written Poems of Haidai three or four times, with one or two words in the middle." A poem has been written three or four times, and only one or two sentences satisfy him. The bitterness is beyond an expert's comprehension, which shows that his creative attitude is rigorous. When Su Dongpo was demoted to Huangzhou, Mi Fei went to visit for advice. Su Dongpo advised him to learn from the Jin people. From 1082 (the fifth year of Yuanfeng), Mi Fei devoted himself to the Wei and Jin Dynasties, taking the calligraphy style of Jin people as a mirror, and visited many calligraphy posts of Jin people. Even his study was named "Bao Jin Zhai". Su Dongpo spoke highly of Mi Fei. He once said: "Haiyue was born with seal script, official script, truth, line and cursive script. He is calm and happy, and should be juxtaposed with Zhong and Wang. " Mi Fei's calligraphy had a far-reaching influence, especially in the late Ming Dynasty. Many scholars, such as Wen Zhiming, Zhu Yunming, Chen Chun, Xu Wei, Wang Juesi, Fu Shan, etc., all benefited from the word Mi. This influence has been going on.
Mi Fei knows the relationship between "putting in the post and releasing the post"-learning from the ancients, but there is no need to tie himself in a cocoon and stick to the paintings of the ancients. Art lies in innovation. Miffy claimed to be "brushing words" and laughed at herself, but at the same time she really hit the nail on the head. "Chinese calligraphy" summarizes the characteristics of his quick and vigorous pen, enjoying himself and doing his best. His calligraphy works, from poems to bamboo slips and inscriptions, are full of vitality and freshness. Judging from the existing handwriting of Mi Fei, the word "brush" vividly shows the spirit of the word "rice".
Mi Fei has not been involved in the political whirlpool all his life, and his life is relatively stable, so he has more time to enjoy the collection of books in the palace. Besides calligraphy, Mi Fei is also good at ink and wash landscapes. His landscape paintings are called "Mijia Yunshan", but Mifei's paintings hardly exist, and the only coral pen holder that can be seen is hardly a real "Mihua".
