Hard rock tunnel. Short tunnels drive the entrance through hard rock, but only from long headings, usually from one or more intermediate shafts. Some long tunnels are built with the help of small pilot tunnels parallel to the main tunnel, and the transverse lanes connected with them are separated by time. The pilot not only provided additional sub-tunnels, but also provided a route to eliminate feces and ventilation pipes and drainage lines.

Another method is the tunneling and bench system, which was previously used in most large tunnels because it needs to allow a small amount of powder and simultaneous drilling to dig out materials (removal). Going to the tunnel is to drive the crew in front of the lower half called A to the bench, but it can be used in the lower half of the tunnel where the upper half is practicing.

In the improvement method and mechanical excavation, frontal attack method was only used in small tunnels before, but it is often used in the construction of large parts. This change brought the Big Mac, a movable platform and many rock drilling devices. Through this equipment, a large part of the tunnel working face can be drilled at the same time, and the frontal method has become the most common and fastest tunnel excavation method.
