The school, formerly known as Huaiqingfu Normal School, was founded in 1907 and renamed as Qinyang Normal School in Henan Province in 1980. In 2002, Qinyang Teachers College, Jiaozuo Education College and Jiaozuo Teachers College merged to form Jiaozuo Teachers College.
