With the beginning and wide application of the Internet, the Internet has poured into people's work and life like mercury, which has profoundly influenced and changed the traditional appearance and mode, and subsequently produced online public opinion. Under this background, this paper makes a preliminary study on the influence of online public opinion on government decision-making with the concept that "online public opinion has become an important reference for government decision-making". Firstly, this paper briefly introduces the concept, advantages and disadvantages of online media, and expounds the platform of online public opinion and its influence on online media in combination with the characteristics of the current Internet in China. Secondly, this chapter summarizes that online public opinion has become an important reference for government decision-making from three aspects: drawing away from the government, promoting a society ruled by law and supervising government officials. At these two points, it is also popular to analyze the limitations of the network from its coverage and its expression. With the influence of network public opinion on political and economic development and social stability becoming more and more important. In this regard, we must take active and effective measures to deal with it. Finally, according to the summary and analysis of the previous chapter, the paper analyzes the countermeasures of online public opinion, and puts forward some suggestions from four aspects: establishing online real-name registration system, appropriately changing the supervision policy of online public opinion, improving the public opinion guidance ability of mainstream websites and strengthening online legislation.
