Dragon bamboo, is it blooming?
Bamboo flowering is a mutation, which will lead to the fruit after flowering and plant disaster, and it is a one-time result. Regeneration of directional bamboo shoots from the expansion of immature inflorescences will help overcome the potential loss caused by unpredictable bamboo flowering. Plant regeneration of Dendrocalamus malayi originated from immature inflorescence, and directional bud regeneration came from 1962 MS medium, with 7mg/ 1BAP as auxiliary material. When the immature inflorescence is 0.5 ~1.0 cm long, the effect of regenerating buds is the best. In order to further proliferate and grow, the updated bamboo shoots were inoculated on MS medium supplemented with 3mg/ 1BAP. The proliferation rate of 12~ 15 overlapping bamboo shoots can be observed on MS medium. 90~95% of bamboo shoots can be observed on MS medium supplemented with 10mg/ 1BAP. After acclimatization, the seedlings can be transplanted into the wild, and the survival rate can reach 80~90%.
