Applying for writing major needs three parts: English scores, application materials and portfolio.

Applicants for writing must specify their concentration on fiction, non-fiction or poetry. All manuscripts (except poems) must be double-spaced. Creative materials should be in font 12.
All applicants must submit the following materials:
1. Paper: Select the literary works written and published in recent ten years and write an article of 1000 words as a response. The job you choose to respond to must correspond to the concentration of your application (for example, a novel applicant should write an article in response to the novel).

In Colombia, literary translation, as a part of the writing course, provides students with the opportunity to participate in the joint course of writing and translation. Students can mention their interest in the same course of study in the admission statement, but applicants don't have to formally announce their commitment before the end of the first semester of the writing art course.
