Traditionally, the Scottish Highland refers to the northwest of the Dumbarton-Stonehaven Line, including parts of hebrides, Perth and Bittershire, but excluding the coastal lowlands of Orkney Islands, westland Islands, Nunn, Marion, Banff and most parts of East Aberdeen. There are great differences in language and tradition between highland and lowland. After Britannization, the lowland still retains Gaelic language and traditional customs. However, this difference was not noticed until the end of 14. Because Furness is usually considered as the capital of highland. However, the dividing line between highland and lowland is not clear.
