The influence of Russian manor system on social development
The foundation of feudal system is land, and the way to manage this land is manor system.

The origin of manor system is as old as feudal system, and it also contains many Roman and Germanic traditions. Due to the disintegration of Carolingian dynasty and the political chaos in Europe in the tenth century, manor economy became the main system in medieval Europe, just like feudal system.

Manor production includes food, clothing, tools and other daily needs. It is a rural entity and an autonomous political unit with cultivated land, commons, churches, aristocratic houses and serf houses. The manor land belongs to the Lord, and the serfs are responsible for farming. There are mutual rights and obligations between lords and serfs-serfs provide labor, farming and paying taxes; God must give land, provide protection and do justice. The production facilities set up by the Lord in the manor, such as mills, ovens, wine pressing equipment, etc., must be used by serfs for compensation.
