The Plastic Arts of Yushanzi
Zi Shan prevailed in Qianlong period in Qing Dynasty, and it was mostly a large-scale scene with landscape figures and historical stories as the theme. Such as "Autumn Mountain Tour", "Nanshan is full of green" and "Huichang Jiulao". Xiaoyushanzi is also common, and it is also based on landscape figures, pavilions and pavilions, carving elegant and quiet landscapes. Some use ingenious techniques to carve white clouds, flowing water, pines and cypresses, ancient roads, sunset and other scenery by using the color difference of jade itself, forming a special effect of patchwork and contrast of depth, with strong charm. There are long sides on the surface of the rock, which looks like a ponytail. The edges of rocks, the folds of figures and the outlines of trees are all carved with sharp edges and corners, similar to today's bonsai.

Jade Mountain sculpture in Qing Dynasty was greatly influenced by the painting style of "Four Kings" in early Qing Dynasty. The layout of the rocks is balanced and steady, the layers of forests are green and the artistic conception is light. Therefore, when carving, try to be simple and solemn, with smooth knife work and rounded turning, which is different from the decorative style of folk jade carving.
