At the conference, Zhang Ping, an academician of China Academy of Engineering and an expert from the National General Expert Group of 5G and 6G, gave a keynote speech entitled "Innovative application of 5G enables industrial development". Zhang Ping put forward the changes brought by 5G, such as driving and telemedicine. At present, China's 5G construction ranks first in the world, which shows that our standards and patents are more than one third. Our market is very broad, and the key links of our industrial chain have their own complete industrial chain.

Zhang Ping said that 5G has opened up new space for the expansion of various industries and the whole society: first, improving the efficiency of production and management; second, improving the quality and value of products; and third, promoting the innovation of business models. He imagines that the future 6G technology will make the intelligent world possible. The future is the fourth industrial revolution, relying on information wisdom.

Generally speaking, information technology has changed our human society. In the future, 6G will change the world and further enable us to change the world.

Hello, everyone. I'm glad to have the opportunity to share the grand occasion of Netease with you. The theme I want to bring to you today is 5G innovative applications to achieve industrial development.

The topic of the meeting is very good, with insight into the future. First of all, we know what happened in the past, what we are doing now and what the future is. That's more clear, so what was the past like? What is it now? What about the future? From the following five aspects.

First of all, everyone is interested that 5G is used to change society, just as 4G is used to change life. With 4G, the distance between people is shortened, and the interactive network between people is very convenient. What 5G has brought us is worth looking forward to. Let's see what the ancients said. We have all seen Journey to the West, which describes four scenes. One is walking in the clouds, from the North Sea to the South China Sea in one day, like airplanes and rockets; Clairvoyance is radar TV; Adventure telegram and telephone, what is our next "72 change"? How? We really should think about it.

What does 5G bring us? 5G is a generalist. We can see that 5G uses AR, VR, MR and other technologies to show things thousands of miles away in front of us. For example, we send roses, and we send roses online. Tradition is a flat image. We ancient people said that "it is more fragrant to give someone a rose". Can this fragrance be transmitted? Can our sense of smell and taste be transmitted? Our doctor thousands of miles away operated on us. Can our feelings be felt by doctors thousands of miles away? The ever-changing internal needs we show through 5G.

And our 5G driving car. I'm thinking that in ten years, it will be easy for us to drive. What we may want to do is our virtual space or our intelligent agent. After telling us, we may go out and the car will take us where we need it. When this car is useless, it carries goods and runs around, and driverless has played such a role. Now we are gradually moving in this direction.

We can solve the example of uneven medical resources and uneven educational resources through 5 G. One example is very simple. Remote doctors connect with local doctors through the 5G network, such as our first remote surgery under the 5G network in Wuhan, Wuhan and Xianfeng, Hubei Province on July 19. The man who did this operation was an old man who had a problem with his cervical vertebra and needed surgery. There is still a gap between Xianfeng and Wuhan, which needs the guidance of Wuhan doctors. Both sides should analyze and confirm the case. After confirmation, the distant doctor put on MR glasses and instructed the pioneer doctor to perform the operation. This operation embosses such a three-dimensional image in front of the doctor, which is very real. The transmission of this image is through the 5G network, which is impossible for 4G. There is no such wide speed, so we finished a good operation.

In all aspects of ancient communication, we can see that it was very difficult for ancient people to communicate. "xi and he urged the sun to rise, and helped mulberry, beat drums and stir flags." This was a drum-beating command, with a beacon, which was wireless, but little information was transmitted. According to the current point of view, transmitting a bit of information means whether there is. Smoke wolf smoke when the enemy comes, but don't smoke wolf smoke when he doesn't come. There is also a letter from our family. The ancients said that "after three months of war, a letter from home is worth a ton of gold".

1846 first put forward the conjecture that light is a part of electromagnetic wave and electromagnetic wave propagates through beam. Three papers were published to verify the existence of electromagnetic waves. Seven years later, the German Hertz confirmed that electromagnetic waves did exist and operated at the speed of light. A few years later, Italian engineers were able to transmit radio signals over 2700 meters across the Atlantic. How many days did it take us to send this message in the past? Now it is done in an instant, opening an era of electromagnetic wave wireless communication. With this, it is logical. We have 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G, which is realized step by step. This is where we are now.

Where we are, we have to say how 5G is done. 5G first put forward a vision: "Information is at your fingertips and everything is at your fingertips". Information is to eliminate uncertainty. From A to B, because of its asymmetry, the two places have different understandings of this matter, but I can eliminate the uncertainty through the exchange of information. This is the basic principle that information needs to be transmitted.

5G not only proposes communication between people, but also with machines called MMTC. The large-scale Internet of Things and the connection between things are also related to our machines and factories. And URLLC. Before 5G, we had a scene called MBB, with no E and no BB. The frequency is getting wider and wider, and the function is getting more and more complicated. The first standard was completed on 20 17, and then it was perfected on 20 18. In 2020, it began to develop into a vertical industry, and then on 202 1, we put forward the demand for 6G next year.

The whole industry is moving in the direction of this iteration. With this development, China has made great progress. China entered the first echelon in the world from 5G, indicating that our standards and patents are more than one third. Our market is very broad, and the key links of our industrial chain have their own complete industrial chain. Here, in the global 5G market, red indicates that 5G is used, but many countries have not used it yet. Our country has marked it red. Last year was the first year of 5G, and now the comprehensive construction of 5G has been accelerated under the central deployment. The General Secretary has said on many occasions that it is necessary to speed up the construction of 5G, just like the combination of China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom. We are now deploying 700,000 base stations nationwide in 2020, and the development is still very fast.

What problems have this development brought? What does it have to do with our digital economy? The digital economy is obviously our new infrastructure. The new infrastructure is information infrastructure. Enabling technologies from the network include 5G, Internet of Things, industrial Internet and satellite Internet. The new technologies are artificial intelligence, cloud computing and blockchain, while the computing power is data center and intelligent computing center. Then we must support and transform basic industries. There are also some non-profit innovation undertakings, such as the National Laboratory and the National Innovation Center, which are blueprints drawn by the National Development and Reform Commission.

Under this blueprint, we should be able to support the development of vertical industries. Why should we support the development of vertical industries? We can see that 5G has opened up new space for the expansion of various industries and the whole society. Statistics show that in 2035, global economic activities will drive 12 trillion US dollars, of which intelligent manufacturing or industrial Internet will account for 28% and nearly 4 trillion US dollars, making it the largest industry application scenario of 5G. Facing the demand of industrial internet, the first thing is to improve the efficiency of production, operation and management, because the labor cost continues to rise, which puts forward higher requirements for efficiency. Most of our enterprises are facing low efficiency and low gross profit margin, which is our basic reality.

Second, we improve the quality and value of our products. Because most of our enterprises in China, although complete, are basically low-end, with low added value. We need to inject ICT technology to enhance industrial value.

Third, promote business model innovation. Low profit needs to integrate our abilities into our social system. There are more than 7 million small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises in China, and the level of informatization is uneven. Most small and medium-sized enterprises face the pressure of capital, cost and manpower, so we should consider two aspects: one is cheap and affordable for enterprises. Second, it is effective, and the effect is better.

The basic demand of industrial internet is that the network should be fully connected, as a platform to integrate and process massive industrial data, as a new mode and new format to realize intelligent production, networked collaboration, personalized customization and service extension. This is our basic requirement.

Here, our network may also become private. By accessing 5G, accessing our MAN and 5G core network, an IP network is finally formed. Finally, after connecting with IDC, it will form our knowledge level, such as big data and artificial intelligence platform. Finish it here. The network can be private or public. As for how to do it, it may need to be studied.

The basic difficulty of our entity enterprise is to combine IT technology, OT technology and CT technology. CT connects the original process with the whole life cycle network and transmits information. Our OT technology, management technology and IT technology are all made by CT. Therefore, CT communication technology is still a hot technology. 5G is just the right time.

Our whole network consists of two parts, one is 2C and the other is 2B. 2C is a demand-driven application, so there are killer applications because all our applications are the same. As long as you make an application that everyone recognizes, everyone will use it, such as a killer application like WeChat. But 2B can't. 2B is driven by the sight. Every factory and enterprise is different, with different requirements and different parameter values. So it is difficult for you to find killer applications, and you may not be able to make a unified solution. This solution can solve the problems of cars and other factories. So for vertical industries, we are still starting to do it now, and we have not fully come out. In fact, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also said that if it is 5G, 20% will be used for red (2C) and 80% for blue (2B). Why do I use blue? In fact, 2C has become a red sea market, but 2B is still a blue ocean market, which has not really been developed. So far, it's just a lot of things, but you really put what you made into use in the factory and produced value. We may not have found a better solution.

But generally speaking, our future trend is digitalization. Digital factory is a comprehensive integration of modern industry and modern communication (5G). In the future, virtual industries, virtual workshops and virtual factories can be arranged in the virtual space. After all the process planning is arranged, it can be done in the entity enterprise, so that zero inventory can be achieved. Zero inventory is a good thing. Everyone knows that enterprises do it, so can industrial upgrading be done through this? With the leading and unified OT, I think OT must be the owner of the future industrial Internet. Everything we do is for industry and our enterprises. We may need to seriously consider this problem.

Let's talk about our future development Let's look at what we did ten years ago, what we have done now and what we will do in the future. First, we put forward a vision. Ten years ago, it was 4G, people and people. 5G has become three scenes, and people, machines and things have to communicate. Take 6G as an example. We say the first thing is to be smart. In addition, we think it may be related to delay-insensitive services, such as satellite networks. Of course, there is no definition, it is my own thinking.

From 1G to 4G, from 1G, 2G, 3G and 4G networks, the communication rate is getting faster and wider. 10G is an analog signal, 2G is 10k per second, and 4G is 100M. The communication rate of 5G is only one aspect, and two pieces are added to become one.

Then, for the future T-bit concept, we need to extend it. This expansion has changed from the communication speed we still need to know and do to T bits, which is 1000 times more than the original G bits, but this is not enough. We have extended the past on land to the sky and the sea. With artificial intelligence, machine learning and so many advanced technologies, we may have to develop the space of communication wisdom. Therefore, in the future, in addition to improving our communication speed, we should also expand the communication space and improve the wisdom of communication, mainly to study the new system of future intelligent communication and human relations. It's easier said than done, especially when we were outside the network. Since people are in the network, we have a leading role in the network. It is a network driven by consciousness, in which more things can be done. I drew an image of the brain here. Everyone in the world is doing the same. For example, Finland put forward 6G wisdom and social intelligence, and it should develop towards social intelligence. At the same time, many countries are doing it, and everyone is doing it one after another

We imagine that the key to a thing is to look at the real foundation that can support it. China Mobile also gives a very vivid representative. Our 4G has changed life, 5G has changed society and changed society by changing physical enterprises. How does 6G change the world? It is ubiquitous perception, the real physical world and our intelligence. The digital world has created such a digital twin world through our abstraction, mapping and interaction. This kind of twin is not a twin in the present sense, but a twin in a greater sense. For example, in the football match, everyone outputs strength parameters, and everyone plays in the virtual world to see who wins and who loses, which can basically be referenced. If you are dissatisfied, you will really play a game, and so will the war.

Therefore, in the future, our 6G technology will make our intelligent world possible. Our first industrial revolution, the second industrial revolution and the third industrial revolution, through our tools, powered by steam engines, and then to automation and computers, made our physical strength bigger and bigger. The future is the fourth industrial revolution. What does it depend on? It is our information wisdom, the wisdom guided by information. Of course, this story may become another story, so I don't need to elaborate today.
