Abstract: With the rapid development of economy and the improvement of people's living standards, the general public's demand for spiritual culture is getting higher and higher. At the same time, the gap between the people's growing spiritual and cultural needs and China's underdeveloped cultural productivity is growing, which undoubtedly provides an opportunity for foreign cultural invasion. In order to reduce this risk, we must do a good job in our own cultural construction, that is, we must vigorously carry forward China's excellent traditional culture, revolutionary culture and advanced socialist culture. But the most fundamental thing is to inherit and carry forward our excellent traditional culture. Taking the rich traditional cultural resources in Nanyang City, Henan Province as an example, this paper attempts to explore the significance of inheriting and carrying forward Chinese excellent traditional culture to enhance cultural self-confidence.
