[Text] It is undeniable that although we are in a highly developed society with both material civilization and spiritual civilization, when it comes to patriotism, many people, even those of us who have received higher education, are just confused or have a superficial and narrow understanding of patriotism and how to do it. Patriotism is a fine tradition of the Chinese nation and a powerful spiritual driving force for the Chinese nation to live endlessly and stand on its own feet among the nations of the world.
Patriotism is a heavy topic. Patriotism is not only "proud of loving the motherland and ashamed of endangering the motherland", but really loving our motherland from the heart and loving every inch of the motherland. Each of us should always reflect on the words of former US President John F. Kennedy, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."
Nowadays, when it comes to patriotism, China people will first consciously focus on the issue of "boycotting Japanese goods". It seems that patriotism must be equated with "resistance" in China, and both China and Japan have historical and realistic factors. After all, we have a history of being hurt, and we China people have a strong abuse plot, which seems to be to vent our long-accumulated abuse. A considerable number of people in China always take an extremely tough attitude towards events involving Japan and China.
Even there is often a desire to solve some Japanese provocations by force, as if to completely destroy the Japanese.
However, our country, which has risen under the slogan of peace, has to evaluate its image in the international community and cannot resist it by force. So we chose the most direct and simple way, which is to boycott Japanese goods.
The slogan "boycott Japanese goods" can be traced back to the famous "Five". At that time, when the global economy was underdeveloped, the proposal and practice of this slogan undoubtedly played a very good role in containing the economic foundation launched by Japanese militarism. However, times have changed and the world has been changing. Today, most of us think that we can achieve the goal of curbing Japan's economic development, but we ignore that the global economy has been integrated and the domestic economy has long been a part of the international economy, interdependent and mutually promoting.
What impressed me the most was the anti-Japanese demonstration held in Shanghai not long ago. Frankly speaking, if I had taken a political class in Shanghai before, or listened to He Laoshi's explanation, I would not hesitate to take part in it, or resolutely resist Japanese goods afterwards. However, after listening to the teacher's analysis, I suddenly realized that patriotism is really not an easy thing.
Patriotism doesn't mean I have to boycott Japanese goods at any time!
In fact, as long as you think deeply, it is not difficult to find that if you boycott Japanese goods in China, it is tantamount to beating your own people. Japanese factories in China employ the most people from China! Once a large-scale boycott of Japanese goods is launched, although it will have a great impact on Japan to a certain extent, our compatriots in China will be hurt first, and our country will be hit hard first! Therefore, if we are really patriotic, we should strengthen ourselves and arm our country with knowledge and technology, or in another way,
In other words, we should choose the space and time to resist. Otherwise, boycotting Japanese goods will eventually turn the differences between Japanese and foreigners into stalemate and opposition between China people.
Therefore, we should be patriots in the true sense, and not become "cynics" or ultra-nationalists who seem to be patriotic but actually betray our country because of personal prejudice and misunderstanding.
But how to be rational and patriotic?
After all, we college students are vulnerable to emotional and intuitive misunderstandings dominated by perceptual factors. In the face of the actions of some people in some countries who intend to undermine world peace, we tend to generalize and treat those countries as a whole. In other words, it will form a patriotic poison with more passion than rationality and less anger!
Therefore, under the background of economic globalization, the so-called rational patriotism we advocate is to safeguard our feelings and behaviors in a diplomatic and constructive way in non-military events.
The so-called "diplomacy" refers to solving problems through "communication, dialogue and consultation" and forming a benign interaction mechanism.
The so-called "constructive" means that what you think and do should be conducive to solving problems and realizing the common interests of all parties.
Nowadays, many people compare boycotting Japanese goods with boycotting CNN. Two things are not in the same class at all. It is natural to boycott CNN, and it is also our responsibility in China, because it involves national dignity. We can boycott Japanese goods, but I will do it on the premise of not hurting the interests of Chinese people and maintaining national economic stability. In other words, we should choose the space and time to boycott Japanese goods. Boycott Japanese goods in China is tantamount to hitting our own home and buying them at home.
Most Japanese goods come from China. I don't object to China people buying Japanese goods, and even we should refuse to buy Japanese goods, but boycotting Japanese goods at home is actually equivalent to boycotting China people. In fact, whether to buy Japanese goods or products made in other countries depends more on personal freedom and economic affordability today. If boycotting Japanese goods is based on national historical festivals, there will inevitably be frictions and conflicts between countries in today's complicated economy, politics and trade. Are they all under the banner of patriotism and then boycotted? There is only one result-return to the closed state of "closing the door to the outside world", break away from the tide of the progress of the times, and then stand still. Imagine, without the development of productive forces, where can the harmonious revitalization start?
Therefore, in this powerful world, as a developing country, rational patriotism undoubtedly provides a guarantee for the country's development and stable social environment.
